Re: Best spyderco sharpener for serrated knives
Yes, most versatile but is it the best for serrated knives? I am only looking for the best sharpener for serrated. I've tried various alternatives but to me the Sharpmaker is by far the best. It is very easy to keep a SE knife hair popping sharp with one and makes SE sharpening easier than PE. If y...

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run
How well are these cutting out in the wild? I’m thinking about picking one up since the blade stock is so thin! Should be a light saber! Hamilton It will be another two or three weeks before I can test it on trout…. But it goes through receipt paper and thin magazine paper like a hot knife through ...

Re: Idea for new knife! Lightweight Yojimbo2
Hi Eduardo, Mike has seen it. I've seen it, I'm sure Eric and Mike will discuss it. sal Excellent! I have LOVED wharncliffes in tool steels. I’m not great at sharpening, but I can sharpen a tool steel! That makes me carry them more than my S30V blades. If a Yo2 out in 15V, that would be epic for my...

As much as I have been loving the K390 Seki City Wharncliffes, I’ve recently thought of how awesome a K390 Yo2 would be!!!

Re: Para 3 LW Spy27 vs. Delica 4 K390
K390 and back lock , “This is the way.” In my Spydie journey, this is where I have landed. I have thought about starting a forum called, “Seki City Back Locks FTW!” I initially got the PM2 as my first Spydie as I thought that having the comp lock would be superior by not putting my fingers in the pa...

I have come to really love not only the RJ ergos, but VG10 in SE. This has been my first knife in VG10, and I’m blown away! As everyone else has mentioned, especially for the price!

Fascinating! Why do you like this rather than leather?bbturbodad wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 6:26 pmI like this piece of basswood I bought at a local craft store. I've rounded the the edges slightly and use them for serrated blades.

I don't strop these days but when I did I was a fan of these 6"x1" strops from gritomatic https://www.gritomatic.com/products/cowhide-leather-strop-on-anodized-blank-for-edge-pro?_pos=3&_sid=b4f3feab3&_ss=r I liked 7 micron venev compound better than 1 or 0.1 micron. I have a 40 m...

but don’t want something cheap either. High quality , upper/mid tier price. Sorry man, I can't help. Despite having a variety of expensive materials and strops, my favorite is a piece of "stir-stick" that you get for free from the paint store. I suppose if you bought a few gallons of pain...

Re: Favorite Strop
Hello Hamilton, I find a smooth, firm leather is best for stropping. The dual-sided Sharpening Supplies XL 12"x3" strop works best for me. I never use the suede/flesh side. I'd prefer that they used a dual side of smooth leather, but I digress. The leather is long enough to split my emuls...

Alright gentlemen, I have a basic 2 sided strop with some Green and Black polishing compound. I think I’m leaving a lot on the table regarding a great edge. The strop is beginning to wear out, and would like y’all’s recommendation on a new strop. It seems like the best stropping compound will be a d...

I have a SM, CBN rods and a Wharncliffe Endela in k390. I’m no expert and put but an amazing edge on it. LOVE k390! Better than Cruwear right now for me. S30V has been the hardest for me to put an edge on in my experience. Took steels FTW!

Re: subway bowie!
I would really love to pick up a Subway Bowie! Although, I’m not thinking of using it as a neck knife. I’m leaning toward either IWB or attached to a discreet carry concept clip and clipping that to my pocket. Who has found a good solution to carry this somewhere besides around the neck?
