Re: Fine tuning S30V ?

In my experience S30V finished on the brown rods gives a very sharp edge that lasts well. For me S30V seems to be a steel that loses its very sharp edge quickly if finished at higher grits. I used to do this and was disappointed with S30V. Now I use a toothier edge and I love it! Dan This has been ...

Both steels are great. I prefer the cf scales and clip finish on the m4 so id go with that one
These are my thoughts as well. I also don’t like the jade color.

I wish they would use the clip finish of the cf GB more.

Exactly as it is now but with S90V would be awesome.

Re: Crucarta Manix 2

While we're on the topic, what other Cru-Wear Manix'es have there been? I'm only aware of the purple G-10 but I'm sure there were others... KnifeCenter smooth black G10 satin & DLC exclusives, and a checkered gray G10 sprint from quite a few years back. There was also the smooth carbon fiber, s...

Re: Mule care for dummies

I’ve had good success fighting rust by slathering on a coat of frog lube. It’s safe for food but if using a handle material that is absorbent, it will absorb it. That could be a positive tho.

I put a nice edge on the cf siren I received last week and it’s been a real beauty to use and carry. It’s a shame the model has been discontinued.

Re: Enuff 2 question

You can try removing the scales and coating the tang in something like frog lube, then install the scales. That should help with any corrosion under the scales.

Re: The Home Slice - H2 Serrated Death Rope Cut Test

It’s interesting to see the results and what a little stropping can do.

I’d like to see the same test with serrated K390.

Both edge types will work but the se will make that type of cut easier and faster.

This looks cool, and was unexpected. Does anyone have some comparison pics next to the siren? Or for anyone that has handled both, can comment on the similarities and differences between the 2?

Re: Bow River Upgrade!

I’m down for anything that has more edge stability. I took my current one down to just under 15dps and every time I use it in the kitchen I can see the edge is having a hard time at that angle. It’s quick and easy to get back in order but a touch up is required literally every time I go to use it. ...

Re: Bow River Upgrade!

How about BBB’s heat treat with AEB-L? What matters is: 1) Does the Chinese maker have access to AEB-L? 2) How is their heat treat for AEB-L? Unless Shawn wants to fly to China to teach them. My understanding is the AEB-L mule was produced in Italy, so I don’t believe location alone makes a differe...

Definitely give it a good cleaning. My process is to work the action under running water, then add a drop of dish soap right into the action and pivot. Work that real good while rinsing, then thoroughly dry with compressed air. Then add a drop of your lube of choice. It should be smoother than the d...

Re: Advantages of the 15V Shaman?

I sharpened mine up to 1200 grit on a diamond atoma plate and stropped from 5 and 2.5 non-diamond pastes then 1,0.5 and 0.25 micron diamond sprays for a nicely refined edge. For me, this steel is tough to remove the burr. That may be because I don’t have coarse enough diamond strops or I’m not spend...

Re: USA Made Keychain Micro Spydies

With the ladybug and manbug, especially in H1, I have no need for other models. If anything, I’d like for them to do what they have been doing, which is giving us options on blade shapes. I carry a se hawkbill LB and the sheepsfoot se manbug. They fill their roll great and I don’t have a need for an...
