Re: Sharpening angles on K390 / Maxamet for EDC

I like my K390 at 15dps, no microbevel, at around a 400-600 grit sharpening, with some stroppping with 1 micron paste.

When more than stropping is needed to bring the edge back, I’ll try my best to match the 15dps bevel on the Spyderco medium bench stone or using the sharpmaker.

I’ll add that ...

Re: Whatever happened to the Centofante 4?

I’m definitely down to buy 2 if a sprint were made. I’d be fine if it were the same as the original but blue FRN and Spy27 would be cool.

Re: Whatever happened to the Centofante 4?

A beautiful knife.

I didn’t know about Spyderco until a few years after it was discontinued but would love to try one out.

If Spyderco really wants to boost the sales of a wharncliffe model, debut MagnaMax in one, just be sure to make enough!

Ah that brings a question to mind how is K390 in an SE blade?
SE K390 is fantastic in my experience. My favorite steel for SE. I’m impressed every time I use it.

Re: What is your favorite Spyderco collaboration knife?

There are so many good ones.

Let’s not forget what Shawn Houston has brought to the table with his understanding of heat treatment optimization. From what I understand, it goes further than what he has been able to do with 15V. So experiencing 15V in Spyderco’s core models is up there for me.

As ...

Re: MicroJimbo 15v

For edc and utility tasks, I’ve been using mine in a pinch grip most of the time. With that wharnie shape, it’s a great little blade that cuts well above its weight.

Pinch grip! Yes, that makes sense now that you mention it. Thanks!

Re: MicroJimbo 15v

My friend took a trip to the Spyderco Factory Outlet and brought me back this awesome 15v Microjimbo. I love the ergonomics on this. I was always a huge fan of the Yojimbo 1 & 2 and this definitely delivers.

The Native has already been released in 15V, both the G10 and LW.

Re: Destroyed Pants

I have had many pants over the years end up like that. The best solution I’ve found is to carry something with a smooth handle like the Kapara. The other option is to sand down about a quarter sized area of the handle where the clip sits, or add something smooth like jb weld.

I haven’t handled the lil native wharnie but really like the MicroJimbo. The blue handle of the Spy27 is great, and there is the 15V brown handle if you wear khakis more than jeans.

And please, do not pigeonhole MM as a SALT with a preponderance of yellow or neon lightweight models.
YES!
If it’s corrosion resistant to be classified as a salt, please make available a non coated model without a bright handle.

I’m not picky on the model, I just hope they make a big enough of a batch. A plentiful serrated edge option would be appreciated too.

I'd say 2 because it's the recipe for Magnacut I'm pretty sure. It's more corrosion resistant because magic :rofl

Funny how after reading so much about Magnacut over the past couple years we can pretty much pick it out by its composition. :winking ...
