Re: Water Filter Question

I live in a hard water area of the UK. When I had the kitchen renovated I had a Brita under counter filter system fitted. It was a reasonable price, is unobtrusive and has reasonable running costs. I use the filtered water for all drinks(hot or cold) and most cooking. I now have to descale the kettl...

Re: Friction folder

That knife brought back some memories. I am pretty sure Mr Morris was at the Knives-UK show a few years ago, bought a small friction folder very similar to the OPs one(my grip scales are red) He was a very nice guy and the knives were not too expensive.
Now have go and find mine!

Re: Rugby World Cup

I think it will be a hard fought match with a 1st half battle for dominance at evry set piece. All Blacks need to minimise mistakes, remain disciplined and get their lineout working effectively. With any luck it should be an epic game.

Re: Rugby World Cup

Argentina were brave enough and hard as nails but once the Aussie machine got into their stride there was no other way it was going to end. I'm guessing the Aussie team knew they had had a game the next morning. So the World Cup ends up with the two perenial favourites, All Black vs Wallabies. We wi...

Re: Rugby World Cup

For once being here in the Uk has had its advantages. Have watched every game live. Felt for Scotland but bagging the ref is not going to help. Have also considered the "easy ride" the All Blacks haave had. It is a worry to some extent, but as long as they stick to their game plan, keep th...

Re: Spyderco Art Knife: Is this a rare one?

Hi Paul
on reflection I believe you are correct. Unfortunately 90% of my knives are in storage in NZ and it is 8 years since I have been able to have access to them. Well it was worth a punt I suppose.

Re: Kidney Stones?

Hi JD yes 'tis I, :) don't do much collecting here in the UK since Ebay went all anti-knives . We can't even buy off other Ebay sites and the poxy Border agency have been seizing folding knives left, right and center. As to the water thing, I purposely avoid high mineral content water because ...

Re: Kidney Stones?

Sorry to be a bit late to this but I am a repeat kidney stone sufferer. There are a few things to know 1- once you have had a stone, the incidence of a repeat event is about 50% higher than normal 2- there are at least three different general types of stone, if you can capture one it can be analysed...

Re: JD's Top 10: In SPYDEREDGE only

Hi Guys
can't comment on the top 10 but the best looking Police model has to be the original carbon fiber SE model. I never liked either Spyderco knives or serrated blades until I can across the above knife in a local gunshop. I was smitten :)

I have to admit that for years I absolutely hated the very sight of Spyderco knives  One day I walked into my local gunshop and there was a carbon fiber Police (this was about 1998), to say I was gobsmacked doesn't begin to cover it. So I bought the knife and ordered a serrated one to match. A ...

If it is anything like the C07 Police knives then dealers other than J.F.Jensen used a black coating too. I have a number that John was happy to tell me weren't his work. Anything is possible.
