Re: PM2 vs Para3
I carry and love both. For general work and EDC, I like the stouter blade and smaller form of the Para 3. It is a workhorse and carries easily. I will admit, though, that I didn't like or carry the knife at all until I purchased and installed a Casey Lynch Short Clip in place of the ridiculous facto...

My Lynch is duller and darker, for sure.sanman28 wrote:Are the MXG and Lynch clips, in natural titanium, a close match to the blade color on most knives....or is it much more gray/dull?

Re: Loving the Para 3
A "deep carry" clip like the Casey Lynch model I have on my Para 3 does not make it a deep carry knife. It makes the Para 3 a "normal carry" knife that sticks out about the same as a Delica or PM2 or Native 5. My Dfly 2 and Caly 3.5 definitely carry deeper than my modified Para ...

Re: Do Five Constitute a Collection?
Oh, **** yeah! Five is a great collection! I have six but I'm looking to trade a Caly 3.5 and a NIB Manix 2 XL for a stainless Military, which if successful would put me at five. Of course, I'll buy more. But five covers just about everything. In my case, it would be Dragonfly 2 - Military and just ...

Re: Loving the Para 3
I get your point about being discreet in Illinois. That must be frustrating. I will say however, that Spyderco shouldn't design every knife with that in mind. It's good that you have the option of making it deep carry. I'm not being argumentative with you, just using the quote to make a point. :) I...

I don't have one but I'm thinking the Caribbean PE might make a great grilling knife.
I use and love my PM2 in S110V currently.

Re: Loving the Para 3
IMG_0444.JPG I have a Para 3 and it kind of languished in the safe due to the inexplicable placement of the clip. The thing rode so high that my Manix 2 XL was easier to carry. I was thinking of sending it down the road. Then a kind soul who knew of my predicament PMd me and let me know he'd sell m...

Hello everybody, I am new to the forum but believe I may have useful knowledge and experience to contribute. I hope you find my posts beneficial. To answer the S35VN vs. S30V question: you would have to have two identical knives with two identical blades (other than the steel) and test them repeate...

Re: Name the spyderco you can't pull trigger on
Can't pull the trigger on a manix. The KC Cruwear version is very tempting, and honestly if i pick one up that's the version I'd grab.... but I can't justify it when the PM2 which I carry almost every day is just about perfect for me Pretty much this for me, although the XHP Manix version was calli...

Re: Which knives would you like to see in XL size?
Manix 2 XL in a good, corrosion-resistant steel like S110V or LC200N. Carbon steels and tool steels just can't handle what I do with a knife and some superior options to those usual sprints would be nice. Maybe the Caribbean would make a good alternative? I'd also love to see a 4" - 4.5" S...

Re: EDC knife for camping?
Para 3, Native 5 LW or Delica 4. I carry a Para 3 five days a week and it works great for just about any task I ask of it. The Para 3 is soon to be available in all kinds of different steels and blade types, too. Great slicer and tough blade that can handle outdoor duties. Native 5 LW would also be ...

Move the clip location on the Para 3 to somewhere much closer to the end of the handle and also make it a deep carry clip .... wire or otherwise.

Re: The Militaries; What Spyderco Does Very Well
I definitely love the Military family over all others. The PM2 is my favorite EDC, although I carry my Para 3 more often due to blade length restrictions in the town I work in. It has often occurred to me that a person with one each of the Military, Paramilitary 2 and Para 3 would be very well equip...

Re: Para 3 S90V or Para 3 Cruwear
If you really want CF scales, you gotta go with the S90V. It's a super steel that will do anything you could realistically ask of it and it'll give you excellent corrosion resistance, too. Cruwear is great and I plan to get a knife or two with this steel. If I wanted CF, though, I probably wouldn't ...

Blurple S110V PM2. It's a beautiful knife.
If the Para 3 version is out in time, maybe even better.

Re: Name your own Sprint Run!
I would like to see another XHP Paramilitary. I was not really into collecting spydercos when that came out. Maybe a more subte color than orange. Seeing how XHP is lower carbide and a pretty high carbon stainless, like ZDP, maybe a British Racing Green G10 PM2. I'd be in. The PM2 is my favorite kn...
