Re: Help With Choosing a Manix 2 Steel

I'm currently getting my third manix 2 LW s110v with screwed construction. Ordered spy first but I have tremendously good results in the field and workbench when sharpening. Don't see why it gets flack now. Read up on how s110v works with sharpening, test results in field, see what you could do bett...

Re: When will Manix L’s with screws actually be available?

Knivesandtools.nl has both the spy 27 and s110v version screwed for the same price. I had ordered the 27 but that was when the s110v was sold out. Had the s110v 2 times already, lost one and bought it and found it back so give to a friend. I know nothing of spy except it is easy to sharpen but I'm i...

Re: Manix2 lwt Still Pinned

I noticed the 2023 catalogue shows the SPY27 version with all screws. I had just ordered a manix 2 lightweight in SPY27 but upon reading up about the conversion I called my retailer and they said they only had pinned versions in stock. This is in the Netherlands btw, how do the manix 2 regularly com...

Re: Price increases 2023?

This is inevitable in today's world. And as usual, some folks will be affected a lot, others not so much. Some may stop buying any knives, but then again there's always new people starting into knives. We can see them in the forums and the social media. Obviously the overseas customers will be hit ...

Re: Price increases 2023?

https://www.knivesandtools.nl/nl/ct/spyderco-messen.htm?sort=price-desc just yesterday I was looking at a new df2 k390 for 140ish, a lightweight sage 5, or a Kapara again.. And though a little over 200 I could justify that for a kapara, however NOW?? **** them, last year I bought 2 manix 2s s110v fo...

Re: DLT Exclusive OD Green G10 / DLC S90V PM2 Available March 30th @ 11:00 AM CST

I thought I would just point out DLTs other pm2 exclusives say they are in stock. Tan 20cv dlc and purple cruwear dlc. Both with black liners.... Are DLTs knives not as neat/cool as RECs? The green and black PM2 seems pretty cool but the REC stuff sells out in minutes. This I wonder about as well. ...

Re: My worst nightmare happened to me yesterday while kayak fishing.

Mate, I can top that. I lost my carry case containing all my spydercos, sebenzas, zt's. Decade of love, passion and joy all gone. Full row of sprint pm2's - the original grey cruwear, red dlt one, rex 45, etc etc. one of my 2 caly 3 sprints, lots of impossible to replace knives. Limited or firsts r...

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat

Well, I'm calling it. After having used and loved my sprint 52100 military I've decided to give up on it and return to my cruwear military. Because I freaking lost it. After checking all the nooks and crannies of my home, little shed and messy barn I have to accept it ain't coming back. I'm literall...

Re: Problems with k390 Spyderco knives

So, after reading all pages I see a lot of people dismissing the so called problematic issue brought up by the opening post because sharpening this and it works fine that to which camp I also belong in. Might as well throw all my sharpening gear in the trash if I can't get a bevel set to my own stan...

Re: An ideal edge for K390.

Would share my experience. To begin with, I have a complete set of Venev diamonds, a set of different Dialux polishing compounds, and a guided sharpening system. I received my K390 Dragonfly with coarse factory edge around 38-40 degrees (no microbevel), and immediately did a resharp to 34°. At firs...

Re: I grossly underestimated the Native Chief

So here is the deal on my take. It was quite traumatic so I'll keep it short. My mother had a sudden cardiac arrest, I think the English term is? Not a heart attack, full stop dead on the ground situation. She was out of consciousness and making these gurgling motions which I now know is a telltale ...

Re: I grossly underestimated the Native Chief

i reckon the Kapara is a better cutter onbut Í find my grip slippping when out and about due to the smooth carbon fiber. Not so much meant for demanding tasks and thus for my purposes, less reliable as the chief will outperform the kapara in actual work done. And it's a workhorse alright. The chief ...

Put a new edge on it, trying to decide whether I need another endura in K390.
But I've been carrying the rex 45 native chief for the last 2 weeks and I like it more and more with each day. So I guess I'm set between this, the chief and a cruwear millie.

https://i.imgur.com/T40eRFv.jpg Wow, so I've been carrying it nonstop since I got it. What a surprise, first time trying a dragonfly, and have all sorts of spydies most far exceeding this price point, or what one would call less high end build quality and materials. But it keeps knocking everything...

Re: Its a new "Golden Age"

Not only for spydies, the entire market is moving so fast now. I think spyderco definitely plays a big role in getting great steels in people's hands for affordable prices. This provides incentives to competitors to keep up. M390, rex 45, m4 etc in sub 200 bucks folders. crazy right? Even others lik...

Re: Should I be Disappointed?

So, question: What makes the Paysan, or Nirvana (the other Peter Rassenti collaboration) worth more than a CRK Sebenza? Obviously a round hole, and bit nicer steel. What else? This is asking for a subjective answer, since all we can really do is compare what we know about the those models, and we d...
