Re: Invitation to the 14th Amsterdam Spyderco meet 2018
I'm probably too late but I'm very interested in this get-together. I live in the Netherlands, be it on the other side of the country. Frequent Amsterdam for giggles even because everywhere in the Netherlands is never more then a 1.5h - 2h drive. If possible I'd love to join should any of the early ...

Re: Caly3 Sprint Run Questions/Help Needed
The caly 3 is sort of gritty out of factory. What I did was just taking the pivot and blade out. Just unscrew the pivot and take both sides out. Clean the blade and handles, some oil of the choice (I went with Benchmade blue oil. Put the caly back together which I have found easiest in open position...

Re: KC Manix 2 S90V Dlc coated G10 Sprint Run
I actually really like the pattern on the scales. But s90v isn't my first choice for steel (not my last either), and I'm not sure why they coated the stainless steel. I wish I could get the scales from this one on the KW exclusive blade (the 52100 one). Maybe I'll get both and do a franken-manix. I...

Re: What two years of abuse on a PM2 by a stone mason looks like...
Just don't let the S110v dull to where you're needing to do any amount of stock removal, right? That speaks for its self. I have another s110v manix, manix lw and native in S110V. Some years old, all as sharp as a razor, no damage to shape or anything. Thing is, daily touch-ups don't really help wi...

Just don't let the S110v dull to where you're needing to do any amount of stock removal, right? Daily touch ups help but for me I lose the most steel to fixing edge damage. Tell me about it. Though luckily most spydies have deep bevels compared to other knives. Got a 940-2 not too long ago. Thing w...

Re: What two years of abuse on a PM2 by a stone mason looks like...
I'll say up front, this thing has been through **** and back. Fell on stones, sliced into metal accidentally, etc etc. I haven't performed any maintenance on it since I got the m390 pm2 a while back but it saw daily HARD use, and with some proper sharpening it would keep going again no problem. It ...

Re: Blade hq dlc Manix 2 ordered!
I recently bought a manix 2 lw s110v for the second time because mine was stolen at work (swear to god, turn your head for 2 minutes while helping a customer and leave your knive which everybody is aware is mine - I've become that guy to the rest who don't get quality gear and recommend buying 20 ch...

Re: I joined the HAP40 Club!
The Burnt Orange Endura was my first Endura and HAP40 example, and I have definitely put it to use. Sharpens up real nice and has that extra thin blade (ground thinner than the stock Enduras) Check out the KC Exclusive Pakkawood Endura, get it before it's gone... :spyder: Amen to this. Can't believ...

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped
ZDP still has the crown for edge retention, but HAP40 has the best of the models available. Better edge retention than Superblue and easier to sharpen than ZDP There is no problem to sharpen ZDP. Just send it to Spyderco and use back-up :D Frankly I am using my ZDP Caly3 since September of 2016. Mo...

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped
Jezus Christ. I was over at a friend's yesterday, who is also looking for a knife and he was amazed by my caly 3 HAP40 sprint, so I recommended the S110V uk pocket broadsword instead which is better for him anyway. Anyway, dude was gonna clean the caly when done, assuming a rinse I even said thanks...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Caly 3 HAP40 sprint (like it ever leaves my body haha), pm2 S110V which I'm currently touching up - cut into a bag with ferocity and right onto a metal bar which was covered up. Surprisingly little damage. S110V is a beast. Not a spyderco but my friends gifted me a Osborne 940-2. Gotta say, I though...

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped
I'm getting more impressed by this blade the more I carry it. I took the blade out again, cleaned it, lubed it. Took it over fine and ultra fine rods and it's a bloody scalpel. The ergos are completely spot on and the size plus the leafshape compliment it all. I'm glad I got 2. Godforbid I lose one ...

Re: prices jumping again?
Meh, USA spydercos are already dirt cheap anyway. Just the other day our main distributor of brand name knives added the sliverax to their lineup in the Netherlands.. Huzzah! For just €289,95. 289.95 Euro equals 346.44 US Dollar. Must be a mistake right? I emailed, asked if it was a preliminary pric...

Re: Disappointed with Native 5 G-10 S35VN Sharpness
Think I'll be able to get the S35VN shaving sharp on it? Absolutely! I have no problems getting any of the steels I have (including S35VN) shaving sharp with the Sharpmaker. Its a great steel. Expanding a steep initial bevel, get some medium rods and hit the native with the it a few times, fine rod...
