Re: Something new is coming soon.

Thanks to all for the info and updates--this may be the answer that some of us with restrictions have been looking for. Tempted by the pre-order, but I'd like to confirm < 2.5 inches and < 2.5 ounces before committing.

Re: Anyone else want a D-Fly Salt serrated sprint with black handle?

I'd be down for that, too, but the black handle Salt seems too easy...all current production parts.

Anyone else want a D-Fly Salt serrated sprint with black handle?

So, yeah: Rit dye, check. This came up recently. I really like my D-fly salt serrated and I get the utility of the hi vis yellow, but there are times I'd much prefer a lo vis black. I don't need a black blade (although a dark D-fly wire clip would be neat...). I'd prefer to buy what I want, with a ...

Re: Rit Die Dragonfly Yellow Salt?

Really like my Dragonfly Salt, but not the yellow color for how I use it. I'd be in for a Dragonfly Salt serrated sprint in black...

Re: Been carrying my Cat, again.

They are great little knives, but be aware that the blade length of current models out of the box is 2.5 inches, so not meeting the letter of the law for federal buildings (less than 2.5 inch blade). As others have noted, that is easily fixed by those with the talent to do it (or resources to have ...

Re: 2.5 inch Native at Blade!

Evil D wrote:Sharpening isn't mangling or bobbing... Sharpening removes metal, which ultimately shortens the blade. 2.5 doesn't stay 2.5 long if you actually use and sharpen your knives.
E.D.-- No argument there--except when my inept hands are involved. Then, mangling will result, sadly...

Re: 2.5 inch Native at Blade!

Excellent point on the published specs...in addition to not wanting to mangle a nice new blade tying to bob it a smidge, I could easily see a gross measurement--"looks like 2.5 inches to me"--followed by an internet search resulting in "yup--it's 2.5 inches...says so right here".

On clips, does ...

Re: 2.5 inch Native at Blade!

YES! Comp lock, wire clip, S30V (or better), low vis (and hopefully not pocket shredding) black G10, and I'm in. The specs are presumably finalized, but I'll throw in one last plea just in case: please consider a 2.49 inch blade length for people stuck with Federal building regulations--the law ...

Re: Premium version of the Cat???

Nice pic! I thought the CF scales might be a bit on the fancy side for me, but after using them on the Chap I like them okay (they are easy on pants, too). I'd be fine with CF, going back to the original design, or a not too heavily textured G10 (like the current version of the Cat), as long as it ...

Re: Premium version of the Cat???

Greetings--Spyderco fan and first time poster here. Glad to see this question asked, and I wanted to chime in. My short answer: YES!

I'd pay Sage 1 prices for a mini-Sage 1 from Taichung on the Cat platform, with a 2.49 inch blade in CTS-XHP--even more so after recently picking up a Chaparral ...
