Re: Neck Knives? Good or Bad?

The SPOT, like the LaGriffe, is a self-defense "get off me tool." The ARK is that too, but I find the other two more useful for me. If used for the intended purpose they are quite useful, but anything else not so much.

I'll take a look at Off The Grid. Thanks.

Re: Black Friday cyber Monday DEALs?!?

As noted, with MAP pricing becoming the norm with knife companies, big sales are kinda out. A few years ago you could count on cool sales, today you just get a ton of Kershaws for sale. Now a few companies have suspended MAP for Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year, and I think that would be a great ...

Re: Neck Knives? Good or Bad?

I want to love them, and I have tried over the years. They work, but only if you get the right knife and sheath, and in the right context. Unless you need a deep conceal and ease of draw is not a issue, they are not the greatest for self-defense carry. If you are rolling around on the floor with som...

Re: Yojimbo Love?

You know, can't think of what I would do to improve this knife. I have been on this train from the beginning and the 2 is darn near the perfection of the design. I can see it maybe being too small for really large hands but other than that I can't see any improvements. As for a lightweight version.....

Re: Road Trip Safety: What are your advices/recommendations?

Some Walmarts allow overnight parking but not all. This is mostly for trucks or RV's, and you are to ask the manager before hand. You can check this out on Youtube a few RV'ers have made videos on the subject. Myself, I would avoid traveling the country and sleeping in my car, too much can go wrong ...

Re: 9mm vs 40 S&W vs 45 ACP

Before I say this, I am a big bore revolver guy who carries a 10mm in the woods... I saw an article done by a reputable source (I don't have it handy so forgive me) about handguns used to defend against large bear attack, It reviewed documented use by caliber. Just about any larger caliber (9mm and ...

Got mine ordered and had the payment processing issue also. Check online and it seems fine and the payment has come out of my account. Glad someone else had the issue too as it made no sense.

My 2019 Ladybug Hawkbill Salt project...

I am on a Ladybug kick. I have had one for years, got one early on in the 90's but never used it. Just got it because I thought it was "cute." Then around 2008 I got a SS handled model and wondered just what could you do with one, so I rolled with one for awhile and honestly was surprised at the amo...

Re: Why Don't You Like Framelocks?

I like them and prefer them over liner locks. Your hand supports the lock when your grip the handle, that is not possible with a liner lock. I don't mind the unfinished or unbalanced look, I do like that clip is normally on the lock side and this produces a smooth surface reducing pocket wear. I do ...

I always joke that I love marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate however I don't like smores... I LOVE the Salt knives and I LOVE the Yojimbo, but I would not really care too much for a Yojimbo Salt. S30V is known for its corrosion resistant already, not sure a Salt version has a ton of appli...

Re: Nick's question of "why"?

If the "perfect song" has been written should we stop making music? I watched half the video and it was getting a bit long for me, given the point. A folding knife is a relatively simple thing. Unless you have an innovation in materials or lock or clip... It is always going to be sort of the same. S...

Re: Spyderco found at Walmart in plastic shell

I was able to but 3 Tenacious Spydeys at Walmart for $38 a piece! Not sure what the deal was, but they had been marked down from $48 and do I just bought them all. The ones I bought at Walmart came in the same plastic package the OP posted. If they would have had 20 at that price I would have bough...

Re: Has anyone else noticed this about Spyderco knives?

I think you have realized a reality we all face with our hobbies. Often times the enduring favorites were not the ones we felt the strongest for at first. The opposite is also true. Often the knife we thought we really wanted and loved seems to suffer from fading interest.

Re: Para 3 with CTS 204P River's Edge - New Shipment

With them being somewhat local, I have been to their shop. I would recommend it to any one who might be in the Columbus Ohio area. It is not big, but it is well stocked and you might find an in store sale (which B&M's are allowed to do under MAP). When it comes to sprint runs, If I want one, and get...
