Has anyone tried loading the suede case of this or the double stuff with diamond stropping compound?
Nah. Get too much gunk stuck in it.

Re: Webfoot

Talkin' Story: I invented the Triangle Sharpmaker in 1978. I invented the Golden Stone/Webfoot (Duckfoot) at the same time. The technology wasn't there to make the design so it sat for many years. We made the "Pro-File" stones as a fill while technology was growing. Patented the Golden St...

Re: Please remove MAP pricing forever!

This is a problem that is easy to solve. Just stop buying Spyderco knives. These are luxury goods and even if not, the most die hard user will need one good model every several years. So if you dislike MAP so much, then just stop buying. If enough people dislike it enough and stop buying, I'm sure E...

If only this subject got thoroughly thrashed a couple times a year across the internet.

The Glessers seem to know what works for their business and for those businesses that support them.

Re: Tips On Quitting Smoking

After 30+ years I used a vape to make that first leap. For me, it was about way more than the nicotine, it was the routine and the hand involvement and such just as much. The vape calmed the cravings but mostly it let me do that while still partaking in the ritual if you will. I still had that morni...

I don’t know if this is legit.
As I recall, that store has a long history of being high priced.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

So... I'm far from the best sharpener out there but I have kitchen knives that between the maker's original grind and my tweaks are decidedly thin and excellent slicers. Paper towels don't lie. Cut them length-wise and cross-wise and you'll get excellent feedback on how clean your edge is. But this?...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

I'm a lover of the Manix 2 LW. I'm less of a fan of the standard model only because of well, weight, and I don't like the jimping. I sand it right off the LW models. I've hammered on my M2LW's but I also do not understand the notion of these being hard-use knives. They are outstanding utility knives...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

... Thanks, the focus was to balance the hardness and strength while keeping the retained austenite to a minimum and to balance other factors for a production setting. I've been able to reach higher hardnesses when heat treating one by one but that's not very cost-effective to heat treat a large pr...

The target hardness for the Spyderco CPM 15V is 65.0rc I am happy to share this Manix 2 matches the hardness with a very tight average of 65.0 +/-0.1 Average of three readings was 65.0, 65.0, 65.1 Keep in mind however there can be some variation with batches not to mention variation from different ...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

This collab exists BECAUSE Shawn (a MAJOR innovator and educator in the knife steel world) has believed in this steel and been advocating for this steel for YEARS. And he’s been doing that because as a custom knife maker and steel junkie he saw potential in it, it’s not like someone forced him to s...

You just got me even more excited with your "king of the k390/10v range" summary, thank you! Maxamet never won me over like K390 did from M4, so I'm curious as to how this will feel in comparison. If it behaves more like K390 but cuts as long as Maxamet I'll likely be asking for more 15v!...

Thanks Shawn, I think that needed to be said. It will be sad when the collectors get their hands on this knife, just to collect dust.
