Re: Sharpening stones
I like the DMT diamond, the S110V has high vanadium and will be very slow to sharpen with conventional stones. Low cost Chinese diamond will work initially however, wear away rather quickly. Regards, FK Thanks. Can you recommend a stone that will fit my system? I'm no good with freehand sharpening....

Sharpening stones
I'd like to sharpen my S110 Para3 and (eventually) my Cruwear Dragonfly 2. I have the Sharpmaker and a 3D printed sharpening system that uses the KME style stones. I don't even know what type of stones I currently have. I bought them online from AliExpress (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3287526176...

Re: Small knife with satisfying action
Yes, I can see the image I posted. I had to turn off my vpn to see the image. I can see it now. Interesting. I wonder if some VPNs dislike callouts to image-hosting sites. I tried opening the image directly with the vpn running - no dice. Once I turned it off I could see it in the post and in a sep...

Re: Small knife with satisfying action
On size alone, any of the following could qualify or not qualify as an DF2 alternative, depending on what metrics for size you favor. https://i.postimg.cc/59KtQ80k/8-AF841-C1-65-D4-42-D9-88-F3-B315318-BE670.jpg For example, the Poliwog (at the top) has the same edge-length as the DF2 (at the bottom...

Small: Same size as the Dragonfly.
Action: Opening and closing.
Satisfying: Fast. Smooth. Solid. Effortless.

Re: Small knife with satisfying action
A CQI with a deeper carry wire clip and possible steel upgrade for the same price would sell better but I’m sure that won’t happen. Are you still talking about the Brouwer or the Dragonfly? The Dragonfly is great but there's still room for improvement. The clip screw should be sunken so the top is ...

Re: Small knife with satisfying action
Oh man am I too late? Because… Rhino !!! Rhino !!! Rhino !!! It may need a little work when you first get it, polishing washers, etc. But oh man is it snappy. The Lil’ Native is, fine… But the funkier option is always the best one. Too late for what? I'm just going to continue using my Dragonfly. I...

Re: Small knife with satisfying action
Use your dragonfly and it'll get smoother. The Para 3 is built very differently and is smoother as a result. Lock mechanism is a part of that. I'll try that and see how it goes. The opening action is actually not that bad. It's the closing that bugs me. I have to drop my thumb to the backlock, jigg...

Small knife with satisfying action
I've rediscovered my Dragonfly 2. It's the right size and weight, and the aesthetics please me. Unfortunately, the action does not satisfy me. The action on my Para 3 does satisfy me. I'm not sure why the action on the Para 3 is so nice. Is it the compression lock? Is it the washers between steel wa...

Re: Para 3 S110V Rust
Thanks guys. I'm relieved to know I didn't get a dud.
I wash the blade when it has tape/glue residue or is sticky from cutting an apple/orange/banana. I didn't think I had to be careful when washing it but I'll be more careful from now on.

Para 3 S110V Rust
Hi all, I bought a Para 3 S110V from a reputable Canadian retailer. I've had it for 1 month. So far I've cut a few cardboard boxes, opened some packages, and sliced 2 oranges. I've washed the knife a couple of times. I didn't blow compressed air to dry it, just paper towel and some shakes. A few day...

Manbug pivot screw
Hi, I've somehow managed to lose the pivot screw on my Manbug. I have not disassembled it for many months but I have been using it occasionally and carrying it on my keychain. Can anyone tell me the exact screw specifications so that I can get a replacement? Thanks. https://i.imgur.com/gwSXsgb.jpg

Can you elaborate on this?SkullBouncer wrote: NEVER EVER use WD-40 for lube as long term damage can forthrightly limit the proper lifespans and functionality in excess.
