Re: prices jumping again?
I laughed at the email I got. That's like the gas stations sending out emails: hey guys, get the gas we already bought at this lower price now because when a certain day comes, that gas is going to go up in price. You, our loyal customer is going to get to pay us 5% more just because you like us! T...

OP, that 50% looks to be off msrp. It's a nice gesture from Spyderco, but that's not that great of a deal when you throw in the shipping.

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
MAP goes against everything free market stands for. For as many dealers that benefit from it, that many or more are harmed by it. I despise the concept and I know others don't share my opinion. This has nothing to do with Spyderco as I will continue to buy their knives and will do so below MAP prici...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
I'd say it's time for a knife dealer to chime in and add some real world information to this debate. 1st off I sell Spyderco because I love the brand and respect Sal Glesser and his way of treating people. I don't sell it because there is a lot of money in it, because there isn't. Let's use the ven...

Not much. Bought my son a Robin and was really shocked how awful it was. Much better can be had for the money.

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
I recall Knife News did a story saying that present day knife industry was a seller's market but predicted it could change dramatically due to what we're seeing here. I have enough knives to last me a few lifetimes, so knife buying is a hobby for me. People usually have limits on what they will spen...

I use my Pacific Salt every day and it takes two hands to close it safely. I close my ukpk on my pants, don't try this at home boys and girls. I was disappointed my new P4 was not a one hander. I guess you guys are just more talented than me or don't mind losing a finger here and there :D I don't u...

Re: EDC: Rotation VS Carrying the same knife
My work knife is fairly consistent. My "going out" knife could range from a UKPK to a Military, just however I feel at the time.

Re: Ball Bearing Lock, why not on more knives?
I think the back lock version may be more to do with the original than people just not liking the CBBL. I'm sure it isn't the easiest lock to make, and there's always those who can't exhail without comparing it to the Axis lock and complaining about not being able to unlock it with just their thumb...

Re: Ball Bearing Lock, why not on more knives?
IMO, it's hard to take the plastic cage serious. It makes the whole knife look cheap and fragile. I know it's a strong lock but plastic? Really? Also the spring used is seriously overkill and not very ergonomic. A spring with half as much strength would suffice and be just as safe (if that's the rea...

Re: Para 3 pocket clip needs CQI
Or, you could set it up for tip down carry. Safer, and given the placement of the holes, there'd be much less exposure that way. Don't know why people say this. It's not at all safer. Can't speak for "people" in general, but gravity, combined with the piss poor blade retention of Walker, ...

Re: Something new is coming soon.
Price just killed it for me. Bummer. I also would have liked it cheaper, but it has G10 over stainless liners, so it seems that material and fitment costs just can't be on par with the FRN. I wonder if the slipit and lockback will have unlined solid G10. A $100 isn't small change (to me anyways), I...
