Re: Sun/Moon Chappy

I like it alot. I like it more than my CF/G10 version. But some knives I don't need more than one of. Chaparral is one of those.

Sometimes I wish I was into off-loading my stock; selling or trading to make room for others. Oh well...

Re: Buying my first PM2: S30V or S110V?

I am OK recommending steel like K390. OP is interested in a PM2 and K390 is an option. You get a great steel, and a unique handle color. If money is a factor, then sure, get the cheaper one. If sharpening skills are a factor (lack of), then it really doesn't matter. Most people I know, even those wh...

Re: Delica K390

My Cruwear Delica was $94 when it came out. If I didn't have it, I would definitely be interested in this one. I have been using the K390 on my PM2 quite a bit. Reprofiled and all. So I am all for more models using it, especially more Golden ones. But I wouldn't say no the RockJumper if that happens...

Re: Gayle Bradley

Detent was pretty weak on mine. I've seen worse on non-Spyderco knives, but this was probably the weakest of any of my :spyder: I was able to fix it reaming out the detent hole. Really starting to like this knife. Another one in that 'sweet spot' size category of mine. https://i.imgur.com/LSLOyQc.jpg

It is not always about what you need. Sometimes you may want to impress :p

Not sure which model your buddy has, but the ranger green K390 from Bento Box Shop is a looker; never mind the steel.

Hope you like the one you get. And keep practicing your freehand sharpening!

... Somehow missed that pic till right now! Very nice and I love the landscape, uninhabitated as it seemingly is! Thanks brother. This was a camping/mountain biking trip in local national forest. Go deep enough, and you won't see a person all day. https://i.imgur.com/UjOUMQg.jpg https://i.imgur.com...

Re: Spyderco Lock Type Preference

Or, put another way, you walk up to the Spyderco table at the annual Cut & Slice show. The man behind the table looks somehow familiar. He says “it’s your lucky day. Here,” he says gesturing at five identical knives on the table, “ You are our 1000th visitor. You get to pick out and take home one o...

Re: Spyderco Lock Type Preference

Compression lock, because it is on my favorite knife. Put on the Mid Comp Liner Bearing (MCLB) lock on it, and that will be my favorite lock. So, like many of you, lock is less important to me than other aspects of the design. Edit: Don't get me wrong, I prefer to have a lock on my EDC, but I have n...

Re: Do y'all know where to get custom wood scales made?

Cuscadi is good; have couple of scales from that shop - wood and CF. That said, I feel like wood scales are not suited for all knives. Granted I only own a set for a PM2. Scales on the PM2 are pretty thin. So wood scales for PM2 are a bit too thin, in my opinion. Feels like if I drop the knife, they...

I'm so pleased that these are finally back in stock! Just waiting for my paycheck then one'll be heading my way! Back in stock where? As I am interested myself, number of stores had them yesterday. Currently see it only at one. Waiting for KC so I can burn my points. https://bladeops.com/spyderco-b...

I like mine more than I thought I would. Enough where if it was to get the K390 treatment, I would definitelly get another one.

Thank you. I’ll now wait for my next Caribbean.

CQI without a naming distinction is a flawed idea, methinks.
Common problem in various products. Drives me nuts!

If you know there is a newer model that you want, best to call it in and verify before placing the order.
