Done! With the new Stretch, that makes it 7 new knives this year.

For 2019, I look forward to more Golden knives. Specifically, Shaman and Siren. Willing to try the new Military. Maybe even the Chief, if it makes it into a sprint or exclusive queue. Or something brand new?

Re: Which steel has impressed you lately?

K390 here as well. I learned to appreciate it on the Police, but I didn't get to use as much. Now that I have it on a PM2, I can't get it out of my pocket.

Bring on the Shaman in K390! With green micarta!!!

Re: Straight Spine Stretch

Got it today. It is a nice enough knife, but it will not replace a PM2 for me. Weight and size are virtually the same. And although the blade stock is thicker on the PM2, they are the same behind the edge. I don't care that much about performance on a knife like this; just an observation. Little bit...

Re: Gentleman EDC / Groomsman Gift

Another vote for Chaparral.

Per D’s point, the Cruwear Native 5 is still available from Knifecenter. Golden made, great steel, and the smooth scales make it formal-ish. The steel may not matter to them, but perhaps they’ll start looking into it and realize what they have ;)

Re: What number of Spydercos are in your active rotation?

I usually keep 6 or 7 out of their boxes, in rotation. As for the ones I go to more than any others. The two I used and carried most since I bought my first :spyder: , most comfortable with overall - PM2 and Native 5. The others in regular rotation, out of their box, - Chaparral - Caly 3 - Delica - ...

Re: Discussion: What do you think is the best size for an EDC folder?

Perhaps I should have phrased my sentiment about this situation differently. Or not comment at all. Look, I wasn't there. Who knows what happened before or off camera. I will say this. Neither of them were prepared for the situation they have put themselves in. They locked themselves in a store with...

I am a bit speechless here. Not everybody should own a gun. The daughter almost took out her mother. WT#!

Much lighter than previous years. Also scored Spyderco bench stones. Shaman Cruwear should have been on here. https://i.imgur.com/r1tVNn2h.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xB9OU90h.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PxHFwLJh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6IaiB1Th.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MieGLxxh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/HHnH9...

Love it! Taking a brand new knife apart, whether to learn, examine, fine tune, mod, all good.

Re: Ikuchi

Is yours pre or post CQI? Post CQI. It's from the most recent batch at DLT. Has the PB washers and drops shut. Now thst I've got the trick of the flip, I think I'm really going to enjoy this one. Pre-CQI had PB washers, and mine dropped shut. The only way to know (other than marking on box, which I...

Re: K390 PM2 | Testing

I pretty much subject every new knife to similar cutting tasks. I like to compare their wear resistance (by no means a controlled experiment) of the factory edge. Couple of cardboard boxes, little bit of oak or walnut whittling, some pallet decorating :D . Then take it to a sheet of phone book paper...

Re: Discussion: What do you think is the best size for an EDC folder?

As I regularly cycle through the different sized knives in my collection, any of them could be an EDC for extended period of time. With my current needs and uses of knives, no problem - Chaparral to Military, and bunch in between. That said, 3-3.5" cutting edge is a sweet spot for me. It has been fo...

Re: CPM M4 vs K390

M4 cuts better. I only say that cause I don't have k390. I care more about knife design than which steel it has. Thought part of the knife enjoyment and experience was sharpening it? Wouldn't have to do that if it was a super magic steel that never dulls... In a way I feel fortunate that I favorite...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

These scales are a trip. Depending on the type of light, sun, shade, color of the background, etc., they take on a different color. The texturing probably helps in diffracting the light. I have seen them look shades of beige, gray, and the advertised ranger green. Anyways, stoked to have this steel ...

Re: SE Shaman or Caribbean?

I don't have either, but held them both at SFO, and the Shaman on one other separate occasion. Independent of the edge type, two things I remember specifically based on my brief encounter. Even with the the extra weight, the Shaman felt smaller than I expected. On the other hand, the Caribbean felt ...
