Re: Need advice: Cleaning (sticky) oil out of the pivot area of the (pinned) REX45 Manix LW

Haven't had to do this with my LW yet, but I would,
- loosen pivot
- hot water and dish soap, toothbrush
- compressed air - compressor or in a can
- let dry completely and oil to taste; something thin

Re: SpyOpera, Brouwer, ...

Really appreciate your feedback and advises, thank you so much. Spyderco does not make a blade thin enough that I would be afraid to use it as an urban EDC. Just the Chaparral design does not really resonate with me. I used to have Caly 3.5, Calypso Jr. (the burgundy one) and I sold these knives as...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

Friendly reminder from Sal that new Caly 3.5 is coming :D Very curious which factory this will come from? Hi FRNFanboy, There is a Caly 3.5 LT WT in-the-works. We're modifying to accept screw construction. I'm currently playing with a Sage 5 LT WT REX-121 proto. sal https://forum.spyderco.com/viewto...

Re: Which should be the next model in Cru-carta?

I chose Manix 2. I prefer the G10 model over LW, and only have one. So, no brainer. Native 5 and Native Chief would also be top contenders, but as they only only come linerless, I don't think that is an option. If it was the mythical Military 2, that one would be on top. I have three of the regular ...

Re: Z-Wear Shaman: availability discussion & lookout thread

Wow, three new members on this page alone with 1 or 2 posts just asking about the Shaman. This one is going to be hard to get just like the Cruwear. The new Cruwear/Micarta PM2 might change things a little Yep, that sealed the deal for me. Pre-ordered the PM2; skipping this Shaman. I'll wait for a ...

Pre-ordered. But only because I have a new home for my VG10 SS Stretch. And K390!

Re: Cruwear Micarta PM2 Full liners

Pre-ordered. Couldn't help myself.

Time will tell if my K390 blade will end up in those Micarta scales. And, I don't have to baby my other Cruwear PM2 anymore. Where is that oak branch I wanted to whittle...

Re: New Para 3 Problem...Help!

If it is as bad as the one in Jake's pic, you will need a new screw. If it is only the bottom thread, try screwing it in without the clip.

I had this issue before, where the liner and/or the clip is not all the way tight against the G10, and the screw will not catch the thread of the liner.

Re: Your longest period of time WITHOUT a Spydie purchase

5 months, in 2020. This is in contrast to my first couple of years after getting my first Spyderco, when packages used to arrive almost once a week. Granted some of them were sharpening supplies, scales, etc.

Glad it is easier these days to take breaks.

Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive Endela Pakkawood/HAP40

I'm passing at $200. I have and enjoy all of the Seki Pakkawood they have released to date, but those prices seemed reasonable up until the P4. Here's hoping a bolstered Manbug isn't far off and is priced more in line with prior releases :) I don't think that is how this works. I've seen the pic of...

Re: Manix 2 LW needs an update badly.

Thread hijack warning! Can't wait for the Caly 3.5 LW! Staying in Japan, moving to Taichung, or is there a chance it will be made in Golden? Linerless LW back lock from Golden! Like the Native in terms of tolerances! With wireclip! That would definitely scratch my PM2 LW itch. Screw construction LW ...

Re: Spyderco Military Observations

Good read! My history with the Military is going on 5 years. But from the very first camping trip with it, it changed what knives I carry and use for outdoor activities. I would use a fixed blade for almost everything, and rarely use a folder. In a way it probably had to do with the folders I used b...

Re: Help with my first manix

A bit unusual for me, but I have been on a Manix kick for the past couple of weeks. Rotating between the LW and G10, 2.9oz and 4.3oz respectively. I do have both flavors of some of the models offered in both FRN/FRCP and G10 - Delica, Manix, Native, UKPK, Para 3. I always prefer the G10. That said, ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

... I've thought about putting maxamet gray scales on my DLC Para 2, this picture makes me want to do it even more. I rotated through number of my G10 colors on the PM2 DLC blade. Settled on this combo. Gray would be a good look, but those are permanently attached to the Cruwear. https://i.imgur.co...
