It's a cool model. The way the jade/hap40 came out; my humble opinion is it needs CQI.

I was emailed today to confirm if I still wanted the Calypso Jr. They got some in and will charge my card the remainder. Exciting.

Maybe they are not black because it would look funny through the scales. I'm not familiar with the manix that has black liners; can you see black through the jade?

Has there been a laminated blade liner lock before?
I was just curious if the detent ball will eat into the soft lamination and cause any effects over time?

Its gotta be either flat or convex to get that cool radius look where the main hollow grind meets.

You can ruin a steels particular heat treat if you surpass the temperature of the last temper.

Heat treat:
Stress relieve
Harden
Quench
Temper

If the steel was tempered at 400 F, and you exceed that, you are changing hardness.
As for H1, no idea!

From my knifemaking experience;

You want the blade tang to contact the lockbar pivot area when closed, like the delica and endura do. If it contacts forward of the lockbar pivot, the blade can be squeezed into the handle.

Ive seen several pictures of the hardware being stainless, not black.
