Re: Halpern scales availability
Yeah, kinda what I was figuring. 3D scales it is hahaBurton Knut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 8:50 pmThe sheath from Spyderco is for the contoured scales. Though SheathPro or any number of other kydex folks could make one for the flat scales at not much more than the sheath from the mothership (if you’d prefer the flat scales.)

Re: Halpern scales availability
Does anyone know if the flat Halpern scales will create any fitment problems with the Spyderco sheath? If so I’ll just stick to the 3D scales

Re: June Hawkbill Challenge
For an inexpensive test, try the Byrd Hawkbill. I find that to be a great knife! Agreed, that was the second Spyderco I got and it is still a really useful knife and a great value! Still looking for a DF2 Hawkbill, I just wish I could find one that wasn't Yellow! Maybe it is time to learn to Rit Dy...

Re: Spyderco and the madmen over at G&G Hawk
Aren’t G&G Hawk the ones who make an aftermarket clip with a “press to release” feature? I’ve never tried one, but it’s a clever idea. Maybe not. There’s nothing about the clip on their site. It was some years ago and runs of expensive knives seem to be their primary emphasis now. Pretty sure t...

Re: Lynch Northwest Wire Clip Replacement Deep Carry Clip
Casey sent me a prototype to test out, and they are very nice. They are designed for wire clips with the clip screws located midway down the scale clip channels, like the Para 3, Manix 2, Lil Native (below), Urban, and FRN UKPKs (and probably a few others). They are NOT designed to replace clips he...

Re: Everyone who wants a fixed hawkbill..
I've been screaming for a fixed blade Hawkbill for the past 10 to 12 years. But for some unbeknownst reason the idea hasn't gathered much steam as of yet  But in the past two to three years we are hearing of so many of the guys on the forums who have discovered how useful that Hawkbill bl...
