Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

I just added AWT scales with the liner delete on the non-lock side last week. I purchased one of the coated Magnacut PM2s. No issues fitting it to a third party scale. In fact, the only issue I had was removing the lanyard tube. It was extremely tight. About the PM2 Salt, I hate coated blades, but c...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?

I love how a simple question about making a knife recommendation has turned how to conduct self-defense... I just read through this thread and see you guys rehashing arguments about SD and knives that where played out on BF almost 20yrs ago. OP asked for knife recommendations not SD advice or philos...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?

I am an avid runner and cyclist. I’m also a hardcore Spyderco enthusiast. I have rotated through a variety of LW knives (folders and fixed) carried mostly IWB during my trail runs and training rides. The Tasman Salt is one of the best options but I recently replaced it with a Pac Salt in LC200N. If ...

Re: Evolving tastes over time?

My tastes have gotten more strict of anything. I've really evaluated what I like the most and what works for me the most and I try really hard to focus on that vs what I like the looks of. That’s pretty much where I have ended up. The PM2 used to be the pinnacle in terms of blade length and ergos. ...

Re: Evolving tastes over time?

Nailed it. On paper G-10 is awesome. I’ve edc’d G-10 for years and for some reason it just doesn’t click with me anymore. Ti is always too slick. Never worried about my pants with G-10 but I appreciate the lightweight of FRN. As I have aged, I value light weight more than anything when it comes to a...

Evolving tastes over time?

Bottom line, since 1993 (when I first saw Cliffhanger) like many knife aficionados and Spyderco fans, I have been in search of what I have often considered the “perfect” EDC knife. I have discovered that my criteria for the perfect EDC has often followed the industry trends: ambi lock (Axis), G-10, ...

Re: Please Pardon the shameful sales pitch - Rock Jumper

I can’t put my RJ down. This thing should be the new testing platform for steels.

I know it has been mentioned that the RJ may take on a leaf profile blade in the future. I would add that it seems like an excellent candidate for a hawkbill blade.

Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!

Yeesh, that was fast. I just picked up the RJ and can’t put it down. This is a must buy for me based on the steel and blade shape. I’m gonna have to wait until next year or move a few out of my collection.

Rockjumper = wow!

I know there is a Rockjumper thread but I just received mine today. No questions, hands down, total keeper. Immediate knife to user connection. Size of handle and blade ratio is perfect. Let me just say that the most striking part about the Rockjumper is how smooth and consistent the lockback is. It...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Brouwer and Siren came in today! Man, the new Brouwer is actually better than I remember. So glad I purchased another one. I have missed this little folder. The clip placement is much better.

The Siren is amazing too!

Re: Rock Lobster 'mini-skinny' chop

I almost cried when I saw the first two pics. I’ve been carry a RL for past three months. Found one NIB on another forum. I owned on years back when they first came out. Great design. Carries well, excels in the kitchen and opening packages. Very comfortable in hand, for me. Construction is top notc...

Re: Your iwb carry.

I’ve been carrying IWB for about as long as I have been using folding knives, about 25yrs... It’s a perfectly acceptable and safe way to carry. I have an active lifestyle so I rotate between a Pacific Salt and Native Salt for IWB. Yes, if you live in warmer climates, IWB carry does contribute to co...

Re: Spyderco Retro?

I'll see what I can do on the models. The Rock Lobster ended up being very expensive, even back when we made it, so sales were very slow and we ended up closing it out. sal Thats a shame about the Lobster. I remember the hype behind it when it was first released. I bought one of the first runs and ...

Re: Spyderco Retro?

Don’t know if it counts as retro but I would love to see another run of the Rock Lobster. A G-10 linerless Scorpious would be cool too.

Got myself a Rock Lobster and G-10 Lava for Christmas... I forgot how awesome those two designs were.
