Re: Engraved stainless Native
It's a C41PS.
I like the Native but wanted an engraved one so I found one on eBay.

Re: How good was AUS-10?
I looked it up. Seems it is good steel but no hardness figures.
I like the FEEL of the Native better than the Delica so at least it will be comfy AND purdy. :D
I wanted an engraved Native. My engraver does good work.

Re: How good was AUS-10?
Anyone know what the hardness was? A couple swipes on a medium diamond and it is scary sharp. :)

How good was AUS-10?
Recently acquired a C41PS stainless Native. It has AUS-10 blade.
What should I expect from this steel?
I have heard it compared closely (but not quite) to 440C and VG-10.
What was the hardness of these older Spydies?

I'll try again. It didn't yesterday, but then my image host was rejecting stuff, too. Here goes.

And I'd really like to know why I can't post images from the URL on this forum when I can on almost all other forums I play with.

Re: Can this be done with a Delica?
His serrations look factory, but grinding that kick so far has kept me from using him any more. The only reason I don't just put it aside and get another is that I have more Delicas than you can shake a stick at. Well, you COULD shake sticks at them....but....as I said, there is a sentimental attach...

Re: Can this be done with a Delica?
I'd guess an "oopsie" as the blade now lies so low that it's kinda silly.
There would have been plenty of room in the handle for the blade without grinding the kick.
That's one reason I don't want to send it back to the same guy.

Re: Can this be done with a Delica?
Yes it is. I have no idea how to get a blade into (or OUT of) a solid stainless "no screws" Delica.
And yes, I feel stupid for even messing with it.

Re: Can this be done with a Delica?
I read the Spyderco FAQ and saw that they will not replace a blade so that's why I'm seeking another path.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Can this be done with a Delica?
I really screwed up my Stainless Delica. I'm wondering if anyone (or Spyderco) can do work like I need. If I didn't have a sentimental factor in this knife, I wouldn't be going to all this trouble. I got (and had engraved) a cool stainless Delica. But..... on a whim, I decided I wished it was serrat...

Re: Is there ANY way to swap a blade on a SS model?
My problems started with a regrind. I got this bright idea that I wanted serrated so I had Kelley's Cutlery (who does great work) serrate it for me. Well...... THEN.... I decided that was a ....MISTAKE... so he ground it back to PLAIN. Which.... left it a bit...er...um.... smaller. Who'da thunk? heh...

Is there ANY way to swap a blade on a SS model?
I've asked this before but thought maybe someone had come up with a clever idea on how to do it. I have an engraved Delica SS with a sentimental attachment that I ......should not have...... done blade stuff to. So, I'm wondering if there's any way for me to preserve my nicely engraved handles and s...

Re: The "CLIP-HILT" my new "mod."
No poke because I cut the clip and bent it down to touch the handle. And ...of course..... tapered where it touches so it is completely flush with the handle. See the top view. Clip on one side.....the gizmo on the other. No edges exposed. And the engraving adds the merest HINT of more traction. STI...
