Re: The best pocket knife ever

I've not handled an Urban but from my experience the Dragonfly is the best pocket knife ever. If the ladybug and manbug had wire clips, they may do battle with the Dragonfly, but I like to have the option of clipping when needed. I also agree that when I think pocket knife, I think of a smaller knif...

Re: Hap 40 Delica thread

Wow high praise indeed. I gave the ZDP Delica a try and it wasn't for me. Now have a Hap40 en route so we will see how she goes.

Re: Hap 40 Delica thread

Curious of people's thoughts on the Hap40 Delica now that a bunch o' time has passed and with all the other options available. How are ya'll liking the Hap40 Delica as opposed to ZDP, Vtoku2, and whatever other tasty steel choices are out there?

Re: All black Dragonfly Salt...one step closer?

I would like the option of a black blade on every knife but especially the serrated Salt Dragonfly.

Re: Your iwb carry.

Also, with a Spyderco, there’s no thumbstud to catch on your waistband, belt, or pocket for that matter and drag your blade open unexpectedly. I’ve had that happen a few times with a mini grip(very weak retention).

Re: H1 serration testing, has anyone tested theirs?

Sal when you do your one stroke on the non=ground side, are you still holding the knife straight up and down, or are you laying it close to flat against the stone like Lance described? As an H1 sidenote, I've found that I really enjoy how the blades get scratched up and show use. For someone that l...

Re: H1 serration testing, has anyone tested theirs?

Thanks Sal! So no microbevel for your on your serrations. I'm guessing maybe Lance wants that harder use edge for his uses. Different strokes for different folks.....literally! Getting the sharpmaker has also shown me that I can easily run around with nothing but a serrated blade, (which is currentl...

Re: H1 serration testing, has anyone tested theirs?

Thanks for this Lance. So when you sharpen your serrated edges, do you use the 30 degree angle first, then remove burr, and then go to the 40 degree for the microlevel, or do you just hit yours on the 40 degree when sharpening? Yes, I have tested both extensively and I feel confident that serrated H...

Re: Your iwb carry.

Well after the shortest failed attempt to live strictly with a Delica, I'm back with old faithful...a Dragonfly in H1 with a serrated edge. I carry the D'fly IWB for a few different reasons like being discreet at work, or while running so it isn't bouncing around attached my shorts pocket. The size ...

Looks awesome. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/913/WO2GIf.jpg Sadly; :( not sure how, but it went AWOL a couple of years ago. It wa...

Re: Rusted liners after fresh water clean.

This is how I VERY quickly realized that choosing a ZDP Delica as my one and only knife was a bad decision. Especially for in waistband carry if you exercise etc. I was noticing corrosion really quick and realized I would be cleaning the knife a lot more than I had anticipated. Back to Salt knife fo...

Re: ZDP for EDC questions

Off to a rocky start. I'm forseeing this to be a failed experiment. Issue number one, size. At work I can't have a knife showing so I'm an in waistband dude. The relatively (I'm used to a Dragonfly) long handle is not near as comfortable and I'm constantly readjusting it. Also there is quite a bit m...

Re: ZDP for EDC questions

Well...it has arrived. This is a VERY solid sample of a Delica. Perfectly centered, super smooth action, and absolutely zero blade play. I'm impressed. Into the pocket it goes to be called on for any and every cutting task that comes up. I'll start a new thread to document my use with this Delica as...

Re: ZDP for EDC questions

Hey thanks man. My brain doesn't do well when I get caught up overly obsessing over THINGS. I love pocket knives and learning about them but have found that bouncing from one to the next and being indecisive and wondering if the grass is always greener leads me down the wrong path. So I'm basically ...

Re: ZDP for EDC questions

That's what I'm figuring as well. I had heard the same horror stories about sharpening D2 but I wanted to give it a go anyway. Grabbed a used Mini Grip in D2 and it sharpened beautifully and easily on my water stones. That showed me that I always need to make my own decisions on my own experience ra...
