Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?
Currently and for a while now this has been my pocket knife. Have a few Vic Classics and a Kabar Dozier that lives in my car or camping gear bin, but as far as carry this is it.

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
IMG_9518.jpegIMG_9518.jpegHistorically it’s been the SE Dragonfly in H1. Just got a k390 Wharncliffe D’fly to see if the H1 can be ousted from my pocket/waistband.
For normal EDC purposes, I don't think anything beats a wharncliffe dragonfly. I alternate between my VG-10 and K390 depending on ...

Re: Maintaining a Sharp Blade
I almost never use my white rods anymore, I prefer the slightly more coarse edge that the medium rods give, so all I do is figure out what angle you need to use (15 or 20 per side) and then do as many passes as necessary to get it sharp again. There's really no rule that says it only takes X ...

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
Which version? I still haven’t purchased one yet because the Black Friday sales diverted my money elsewhere.
pe h1 gen 1 is my favorite. I have some se gen 1's too, and gen 2's in both edge types, but PE works best for me and the older handle fits my grip a little better.

Re: What's the one you keep going back to?
Pacific Salt
It's not my favorite Spyderco deaign by a long shot.
I prefer the size of the police and catcherman, the ergos of the Manix XL and Military, the geometry of the chief, etc.
but being a salt with a nice grip and good cutting action, I keep coming back to it.
I thought the ...

Do you guys use the flats of the brown rods for this knife? I just got mine and it doesn’t need to be sharpened, but want to have an idea for when it does. I have the wharncliffe.

Re: My tastes have changed...
Interesting discussion.
Back before I'd ever heard of Spyderco, I carried Kershaws. The Leek was always my favorite, but I didn't know why. I tried many other knives after I lost my Leek, yet none of them felt quite right.
Years later, the Delica became my favorite Spyderco, though I still ...

Starting tomorrow, the new guy will take over for a while. Will be strange to carry a plain edge but I’m sure I’ll manage just fine
. New guy is awesome. K390.
