Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison

Well one week in and the hawkbill Ladybug taken over my pocket. Manbug has been ignored completely. Trying out a little lanyard for right now. I like it so far. Something special about this little knife. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48997879073_34671eb1f9_b.jpg Untitled by Six Pound Cat , on ...

Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison

The Ladybug hawkbill is ground thinner than the Dragonfly though right? The Manbug salt is definitely quite a bit thicker than the Ladybug. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48971662226_e454761af7_b.jpg Untitled by Six Pound Cat , on Flickr If I could only have one of these I'd probably go for the...

Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison

The Ladybug hawkbill is ground thinner than the Dragonfly though right? If I could only have one of these I'd probably go for the Ladybug, but I'd definitely choose the Dragonfly Salt over either. These two (especially the Manbug) are ground so thick that they don't slice near as well as the Dragonf...

Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison

Another observation. The more mellow serrations on the Ladybug seem to me to be optimal for every day cutting. Just enough tooth to make the serrations worthwhile, but not aggressive enough to cause any of the snagging issues that seem to turn some people off to SE in the first place. Also the Ladyb...

Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison

Thought I'd change the title since this is ending up more of a comparison thread. I'm going to try to not rush to any judgments here so I'm going to carry the Ladybug for the next few days to get a feel for it. It feels oddly solid and good in the hand despite its tiny size. https://live.staticflick...

Re: Manbug Salt, Revisited

Here you go sir. From the pictures it doesn't appear that they are that much different size wise. But in hand the ladybug is noticeably smaller. The texturing on the Manbug is bigger and deeper giving it a grippier feel, and it's just that much more hand filling. My initial thought is that I like th...

Re: Manbug Salt, Revisited

Ahhhhh, there it is! Mine arrives tomorrow and originally I had planned on comparing it with the Manbug and keeping the one I like best, But, since I have an itchy Dremel finger, I guess I'll be keeping the Manbug regardless. I've always been a small knife guy and then more recently became a serrate...

Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison

I tried the Manbug Salt a while back, but I didn't really give it a fair shake due to my love of SE Dragonfly Salt that it was sharing time with. This time around, there is no Dragonfly since I sold it off to help fund other knives. (I will %100 get another Dragonfly Salt in the future.) Anywho, aft...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

A month straight as your only carry is saying something. Appreciate your thoughts brother. How you like that little thing Bloke? That's one knife that I've never tried but every time I see a picture of one it kinda speaks to me. In that photo the serrations don't look overly aggressive either. That ...

Re: The Wire Clip: express your love, hate, indifference

LOVE THE WIRE CLIP. Well I should say that I love it on the Dragonfly and would love to try one on a Lady\Manbug. I blue Loctite mine on so it doesn't move and I'm good to go. Waistband or pocket carry is good to go. Have had people ask why I have a paperclip attached to shorts in the past. Ha.

Re: My perfect city combo and my perfect "just-one" blade... show yours

Both are the same knife for me. Dragonfly Salt Serrated. I've had em', sold em', but keep on coming back. At times I've sold one to try something else but nothing works so well for me. This guy is clipped in my waistband almost all the time.... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48667581453_48a1cf2...

This photo is going to cost me money. That little wharncliffe would look soooooooo nice with a patina.

To me, it doesn't sound like they're working on changing the design to add a clip. It sounds like they're working on designing a clip that can be added to the current design.

Correct.

Re: Spydies you consider selling or passing on one day

I sell everything. Even stuff that I really like. Weird? Maybe, but it helps me from getting attached to material crap and keeps this all in perspective. I can get by most days without a pocket knife at all and could probably be just fine with a Victorinox Classic. In reality for ME having just one ...

Hey Sal! Any updates on clip designs? Ladybug AND Manbug or just one of the models being looked at for clips? Thanks!

Re: Why linerless?

LOL!!! Love it! Why not both? I have knives with liners and without. I don't take my knives without liners out to cut small tree branches and shrubs, but they work fine for boxes or stripping wire. Sure, both have their positives and negatives, and we all like what we like. Me, I'll appreciate both....

Re: Why linerless?

I'll play devils advocate against my earlier post and say this. The Delica I have has seen some serious use and I have no idea how old it is or exactly what it has been subjected to. So yes, while it did take some work, it cleaned up nicely and there wasn't any pitting or major damage. Also I am hon...
