Re: Ladybug/Manbug with Pocket Clip

Maybe don't worry about the clip being backwards compatible and make it a CQI-ish type thing. Treat it like a Dragonfly with the wire clip and have the slots in the frn. That way it's a leave it on or take it off situation. Just a thought.

Re: Poll: How do you carry your Spyderco Dragonfly?

Dragonfly Salt serrated is my all time favorite knife. I've had and sold a few over the years and recently went back to one. Going on 2 months straight of waistband carry everyday whether at work, trail running, or just knocking around the house. Only dedicated knife I own.

Re: Boye dent poll. Let your voice be heard or be a sheep in a herd.

I don't know what the benefit is of NOT having the Boye dent. At this point I've pretty much realized that I'm a back lock guy and in that back lock I want the dent!

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

Yessir I hear you Evil. Forgot to mention that I got this one used so there is a good chance that the previous owner worn the teeth down\rounded them out a bit through sharpening. This thing locks up rock solid, falls shut, is centered, and cuts through things like a champ. By far my favorite pocket...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

On my most recent copy of the Dragonfly Salt SE, the teeth don't seem to be as aggressive as some others that I've had in the past. Love it. ImageUntitled by Six Pound Cat, on Flickr

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Toothy Dragonfly is back in pocket where it belongs. I have tried to quit this knife a few times and can't do it. For a take anywhere pocket knife this thing is IT. Black Rit Dye on the scales which is my standard treatment. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50551722181_d58e0c3747_c.jpg Untitled b...

Rit Dye is your friend. Super easy and fast. I dyed another H1 Dragonfly to black this evening.

Re: Choosing the Chaparral

I've never handled a Chaparral but always wanted to. I'm a Dragonfly guy thus far as that's really the only Spydie that has stuck around for a significant period of time. These comparison photos are top notch by the way. Great post!

Re: Siren

Interesting that you said this Gringo as I was wondering a few days back if you had moved on from serrations. Nice pics. Nice fish. Intimidating looking gills for PE. Did you use the Siren to bleed it or something with teeth? Gonna order an LC200N SE Pac Salt 2 but I still want a Siren with teeth. H...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

TO my eyes the serrations look pretty similar between the two but I hear what you're saying about FFG vs hollow grind. How far off is the VG10 in the edge holding department when up against SE H1? Can anyone tell me the difference performance wise between a D'fly in serrated VG10 vs H1? Started thin...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

Can anyone tell me the difference performance wise between a D'fly in serrated VG10 vs H1? Started thinking that I typically dye my H1 salts black and I've never had a rust issue even with a Aus8 blade when worn in waistband running, mountain biking, soaked in sweat, so I'm not sure why my mind has ...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

Was able to find a D'fly Salt SE with non coated hardware! Woo hoo! It'll be good to get one in the hands again. Great thread and thanks a bunch Evil D! This thread has inspired me to go back to maybe my all time favorite knife. I carried a serrated D'fly Salt as my only pocket knife for quite a whi...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

This thread has inspired me to go back to maybe my all time favorite knife. I carried a serrated D'fly Salt as my only pocket knife for quite a while and was very happy with it so think it's time to go back. Does anyone know where I can find one with the "old" uncoated hardware? I prefer the look ov...

Re: Salt 1 in stock anywhere?

Hey Spydergirl!
I have ordered from Bulluna.com successfully in the past when wanting one of the discontinued Salt 1 knives. They currently have some in stock as well.

Re: LC200N / Caribbean SE torture test gauntlet of death

Evil this thread is awesome and thanks for putting the effort in. Also I just realized that you have videos out! Woohoo! So in your serrated opinion, LC200n trumps SE H1 in all situations and you're just fine to never mess with H1 again? I had another moment of weakness and sold of my beloved SE H1 ...

Re: Reputable Online Retailer Sugestions and Experiences Good or Bad

Thank you sir! Anyone know of an online dealer that you can call and have them check a few samples for centering etc? I’ve called and had Knifeworks check for me before. As well as SoonerState, CutleryShoppe, and NewGraham. Asked SMKW and they said not possible but I could return if I wasn’t happy.

Re: Spyderco serration history

Hey Sal! Love the serrations history lesson, and being that a SE H1 Dragonfly is basically my only carried knife I've become accustomed to their use but also their look. When I look at plain blades now they just don't look as......interesting :). Question for you, how do you all determine serration ...
