Re: High Performance Delica Excitement

Oh, this is very exciting indeed. Shame about VG-10, but as proof of concept, it's a good first step!

Re: A quest for Sal ...

Thread necromancy aside, I feel like a Para3 Lightweight Salt (in LC200N) would scratch a lot of this itch. I very much hope that's in the works.

Re: Spyderco: What makes the brand so good?

Function. Almost every Spyderco is a good cutting tool, with a good blade, and good ergos. There are exceptions, of course, usually collaborative pieces, but more than every other large brand, there's a very good chance that if it's by Spyderco, it's going to be a good tool for cutting things.

Re: Why the lack of Elmax options -- are any on the horizon?

Elmax got a bad reputation early on in its time in the community due to some issues with a sub-par heat treat from another company, so I've heard a few makers say explicitly that they've steered clear of it from a public perception standpoint. This is silly, but given how much of 'super steel' is ma...

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run

What's silly is that you dont understand the economics of this. There may be huge demand for this particular item right now. But it will not last forever. The market for this specification is limited. Don't get me wrong I like this knife, but it shouldn't be a production piece. If anything, just ke...

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run

I know lots of folks like the hassle and chase of sprints, but why not just make the Micarta and [high end steel] Shaman a regular production knife, like the S110V/Blurple ones. Demand is clearly through the roof, and it seems silly to keep a great material and great tool away from people who might ...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

I'm very much hoping that they take this as a cue, and offer a production Shaman (much like the S110V Para2) in Micarta. Because this is definitely souring a LOT of people on the Sprint Game.

Re: The Future of the Para 2? I'm sort of worried

Discontinuing the PM2 would be just as silly as discontinuing the Slysz Bowi... wait. Oh no! :D

I would be *shocked* if they did anything to the PM2. It's an icon.

Re: H1 SE Tatanka LW Salt Anyone???

I'm curious: Now that LC200N is a thing in the Salt line, and has been shown to be basically rustproof, with substantially better edge-holding, why would you ask for H1 here? My current feeling is that I, for one, welcome our LC200N overlords, and I hope quite strongly that it comes to replace H1 th...

Hah, very nice! I'm glad to see these kinds of videos being made by the makers themselves. I'll probably still make my own, for tradition's sake, but it's great to see!

I realize this is a little silly, but a Waterway in M4 and Jade G10 would be awesome IMHO. Just saying :)
In M4, we'd have to call it the Desertway.

I just did a bit of bending myself, inspired by BWUnger, and it's definitely better. Having more room under the clip definitely helps, both in the pocket and in the hand.

Does Spyderco ever acknowledge when items are discontinued? Or do they just let them quietly die?

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

Speculation and I’m no engineer but it might be that on a knife with washers there isnt much machining needed on the inside of the scale. All the machining is on the outside so it’s all done at once. This knife has extensive internal milling. I have trouble believing that could be the issue here.
