Re: New Resilience: two different washers?

(...) I think yours is newer and with better washer arrangement. (...) Perhaps. Perhaps not. I think the locking liner pressures the blade a bit too strong sidewards against the teflon/nylon washer. It's a bit too soft and cave in. If I had metal washers I would test it. To leave the teflon/nylon w...

Yes, that's what I mean with "bigger" (maybe the wrong word cause my English as humble German guy is fu..ing bad). ;-) Thus I prefer LARGER washers. :-D

Re: New Resilience: two different washers?

Glad you accept that and can enjoy the knife. Hm.. not really, hahaha. Could not resist to disassemble the bag... ;-) Yep - that's enjoying the knife also. ;-) It came out not 2 different washers but every metal washer (bronze or simple copper?) is located between the blade heel and a nylon ...

Re: New Resilience: two different washers?

(...) If not rubbing on scale, I'd leave it as it is. Hahaha, that's it and will be just now my wise as well. I'm not able to get the blade centred and: it's not really a big off-center. Just a bit, just a cosmetic thing. This knife costs not the world. In view of the amazing handling, blade shape,...

Re: New Resilience: two different washers?

I would guess and say they're also different sizes? I've seen a lot of liner locks with a smaller washer on the lock side than the other side. If not then I have no idea. I'm not sure, it's hard to see. Have to dismount the beast. But could imagine you're right. I would assume just a production cha...

New Resilience: two different washers?

Hi folks, today got my new Resilience. Not bad (perfect for kitchen work), love the handling, great blade shape. But first issue what I saw: decentralized blade. And two different washers (1 bronze, 1 nylon/teflon). Is this a new improvement or had all along the Resilience these two different washer...

My iron wood gentleman edc just mounted. It's a perfect experience to get it in my hands, to touch it and to let it slip into my pocket. G10 is nothing... ;-)

Re: Pimp my Native 5: How changing scales?

Pretty sure the lockbar pivot on the G-10 Native 5 is two pieces, a screw and a hollow bolt with a D shaped body and a flat head. Once you remove the screw from the left side, you just push the bolt out to the right. Like these, only with flat heads on the screw and bolt... http://paulberetta.com/i...

Re: Pimp my Native 5: How changing scales?

Thx bh49,

yesterday I had disassmbled the Native 5 to clean the washers. And I saw the righthand scale is closely linked to the plate via the axis of the locking bar, in my view. Or am I being wrong?

Pimp my Native 5: How changing scales?

Hi folks,

I decided to order iron wood scales for my Native 5 (at Cuscadi). But I wonder how to change the righthand scale cause it seems wedded with the liner/plate via pivot of the lock bar.

Is there any tip or tutorial to mount new scales to the Native 5?

Best,

Re: Native XL

I'm a "keep-it-simple-freak" too that means no special mechanics concerning sand or bit seawater, simple but durable and reliable locking systen, instead ball bearings I prefer simple washers, lenyard hole (not a clip guy) and a great blade steel. The Native in this view is a perfect allround knife,...

Re: Native XL

I'm not sure but this one steps in the right direction (pretty old thread). Native Chief sounds much better than XL. Leaf shaped, would prefer full-flat-ground blade 3.5 mm thickness, add jimping and I will buy! :-) A knife like this has a quite different form factor as Manix 2 and a different lock ...

Re: Native XL

The bad news, for me, is that I believe it was a liner lock and I was hoping for a backlock. Oh yes, that's really unfavorable. Backlock is my favored too. In my view one of the benefits of the native. Love to be a bit more save = matter of mind, to me backlock feels more reliable. Think linerlock ...
