Re: Meadowlark

My new Meadowlark is broken in and working beautifully. Smooth and strong with no alterations by me, other than oil. Great knife.

Re: If I were upgrading the Delica

The Delica is great, there is only one design change I would upgrade. It is on both the Delica and the Endura. The handle has a rise right where my middle finger comes to rest. I have a large hand, so for me if that rise were changed into an small indentation it would pe perfect.

Re: Loosen stiff CC2 & ML2?

My first Cara Cara is excellent. I can flick it open. I really like the design of the handle. It's not on the level with my Endura but it's close. My second Meadowlark is good, but not as smooth as the Cara Cara.

Re: Loosen stiff CC2 & ML2?

I'm not really sure what the name of all the parts are. The spacer I referred to is the piece that holds the spring and has the little pin in it.

Re: Loosen stiff CC2 & ML2?

Like you I bought a ML2 and a CC2. The Cara Cara was great. The meadowlark was stiff so I tried all the standard things then decided to take it apart and polish the Tang and liners. Taking it apart was a mistake because the spacer that holds the spring was kind of messed up. I understand that Spyder...

Re: Meadowlark

Thanks for your help Chris. I bought a new knife as my fix. I don't know if I can get a replacement spacer or not. The moral of this story is don't take the Meadowlark apart.

Re: Meadowlark

Thanks Chris, I did put the lock bar in last as in the video. The problem on my meadowlark is, the spacer that holds the spring has a little pin in the middle that positiones it on the liners. That little pin had some extra plastic around it that would not let the spacer properly seat in the liner. ...

Re: Clear handle scale discussion

I like it. I like the novelty of it. I would buy it. Only a few of my knives get any real extended pocket time anyway.

Re: Manix 2 translucent

Thanks Jon, s110v next. I gave Sal so much of my money already I need to slow down. I don't want to but reason tells me I should. There are so many that I want. I'm starting with the less expensive ones and working my way up. I still need the Military, paramilitary 2, Police, Civilian, Salt and the ...

Manix 2 translucent

I'm expanding my collection of lightweight Spydercos. There is something about the Manix 2 in blue translucent that I liked immediately. Maybe it's the color or the blade shape or the lock. I just think it looks really cool. It is a bit wide in the pocket and the wire clip is not black, but I like h...

Re: Meadowlark

Thanks Art that is the issue. The pin had some frayed plastic around it where it goes through the support. It looked like a pole in your yard that had not been weed whacked. The frayed plastic prevented it from seating in the liner properly. I cut some of extra plastic off so it would fit into the h...

Centofante III

My Centofante III is broken in and it has turned into one of my favorites. It is smooth, light and slender in the pocket. It is also a good looking knife. The blade shape took me some time to warm up to but now I really like it, it's very functional. Great knife guys! http://i1222.photobucket.com/al...

I have a Cara Cara 2, but in frn, which I prefer due to the weight savings. It takes a great edge and the design is excellent.

This is why I took the Byrd apart and not my Spyderco, so if I screwed it up it would not be as bad.

Re: Meadowlark

Thanks for your reply Sal. I took it apart again to see if it was seated properly or out of place. It seems to be all the way back in the slot and the bend is going up to the lock bar and the tip of the spring is in contact with the lock bar in the correct place. If I loosen the pivot screw until th...

Re: Meadowlark

By the way I really like this knife. It's a great design and a super value. I can imagine how much of a challenge it is to find a good manufacturer in China that can produce up to your standards consistently.

Meadowlark

I just got a meadowlark in frn. It was very stiff upon opening and closing. So it disassembled it, polished the blade tang and the surfaces of the liner where the washers are. This made it much smoother. The only problem is the spring is not as strong. It still functions to pull the blade back into ...

Spyderco copies

I notice that there are several companies who are selling their own branded knives that look exactly like Spyderco knives. Has Spyderco's utility or design patent expired? I'm just curious how the company handles these situations. Imitation is the highest form of flattery except in business.

Re: New Endura Question

I got my Manix 2 blue translucent lightweight. What a great looking knife!! Great job Eric. I'm new to this, so I know this knife is old news, but it is new to me and I really like it. Light weight, great blade shape and size, cool color, smooth action, great in hand and under 100 bucks. All the thi...
