Re: Any word on the blue G10 Delica?

Sorry to bump this necrothread (figured it'd be better than starting a new one), but I remembered this thread this morning and wondered if the knife in question had gotten any more traction? I for one would still love to see a G10 Delica in any steel! :D :spyder:

Southard and Domino: Still Awesome in 2017?

I've thought about picking each of these up many times over the years, specifically the TiCN Southard and the BBS Domino, but I've never pulled the trigger. Something got me thinking about them today, and it made me wonder: with all the new designs from Spyderco and others (flipper or not), do eithe...

Re: Hair Whittling From the Brown Rods: How Do You Do It?

Wow, thank you all so much! I've been frustrated with the level of sharpness I've been getting even though I thought I was pretty much following all the right steps, but this has really inspired and encouraged me to give it another go. I've been putting off getting the diamond rods for too long; it ...

Hair Whittling From the Brown Rods: How Do You Do It?

Over the past few months since I've joined this great forum, I'll occasionally see one or two of you nonchalantly mention that you can get your knives hair whittling sharp just on the brown SM rods. That absolutely blows my mind. I can get my blades *maybe* shaving sharp on the medium stones, but I'...

Re: Native 40th Anniversary Blade Swap Question

Oh wow, I had no idea that the dimensions were different. Thanks a ton, Radioactive! That helps a bunch! I think if I go ahead with the project I'll go the route you mentioned about the S110V LW. Thanks again!

Native 40th Anniversary Blade Swap Question

Since hearing that the Fluted CF Native/S90V project was scrapped, I've been strongly considering going the expensive route and making my own from an Anniversary model and some other TBD parts donor/recipient. The problem I'm having is deciding which other Native model to use. I don't think it's as ...

I'm not sure about the original runs, but I believe the 2008 Sprint Run in foliage G10 used torx screws?

Re: Rookie sprint run in CF

I'm sorry for resurrecting this zombie thread, but I'm also not sorry because this is such an excellent idea! I recently discovered the Rookie and I'm bummed that I missed out on such an incredible design. Blade to handle ratio isn't everything, but it's pretty amazing how they packed so much blade ...

This is terrific! Thank you for the heads up, Kristi! I've been hoping we non firefighters would be able to buy these, and it's even more awesome that the proceeds go to such an excellent cause. I'm going to pick one up for a very deserving firefighter/EMT friend of mine. Thanks again!!

What happened to the Lil Vallotton?

Maybe SHOT Show in a few weeks will answer my question, but what happened to development of the Lil Vallotton that we saw at SHOT/Blade earlier this year? I for one was pretty excited about that concept, so I was pretty bummed that it didn't make the 2017 product catalogue. I hope the project wasn't...

Mantra Owners: Two Questions

Okay, I'll keep this short and sweet: 1. For those who have sanded/ground off/otherwise removed the flipper tab, are you still liking that change, or have you come to regret it for any reason? 2. Have any of you tried swapping out the ball bearings for phosphor bronze washers? Is this even possible?...

Re: Sub 2.5 Inch blades

I hesitate to bring this up in the Spyderco forum, but it sounded like the question was open to any brands that fit the qualifications. That said, if price is no object, William Henry makes some small folders that could be viable options. Yes, they have some super expensive, super ornate (borderline...

Re: Can we still expect a non-anniversary fluted CF Native 5?

I feel like there's got to be a work-around that would sell for much less but still get us exited. It's the unlined lightweight of the handle that really appeals to me. Sure, the Thor is beautiful but I could live without that. How about contoured (not fluted) carbon fiber scales with a premium ste...

Re: Can we still expect a non-anniversary fluted CF Native 5?

I find this news very disappointing. First I am led to believe that Spyderco has prototypes of a fluted Ti Para2 and that they are hoping to bring it to market. This was years ago with almost no sign of it actually coming to fruition. There was also talk of a fluted CF Para2 and we have heard nothi...

Can we still expect a non-anniversary fluted CF Native 5?

I love everything about the anniversary Native 5 except the damascus blade (it's gorgeous in person, I just prefer to collect plain blades), so I was stoked when I heard they'd be releasing a similar (and less expensive!) version in plain ol' S90V. :D Is there still hope for such a release?

Re: Caly3 in M390 or S110V anybody?

I was playing with my Caly3 today, and thinking how much I really like this knife. I would love to see them move this knife to Golden and produce it with M390 or S110V. If S110V is used, I would like to keep the carbon fiber but make it the same color as the other S110V offerings. (as a side note, ...
