Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?

I used to consider myself a Manix guy, before I fully came around to the PM2. At one point I had commissioned a CF LW, originally a Brown XHP exclusive: https://i.imgur.com/U7Ami9b.png The whole process made me think that I should just do it myself next time, so I made a set of Cocobolo scales, whi...

Re: Screws do not come off Native 5 Salt

I’ve had several that were like that. The threaded insert is not very secured and it just very easily spins free then you can pull the knife apart.

Re: Lets talk stropping

I use a knivesplus strop block to finish my edges after sharpening. I also use it to touch up the edge between sharpenings. Works pretty well for me. I will agree though that a stropped edge has far less bite than a non stropped one.

Re: eBay selling

I prefer buy it now as I like to actually know what I'm getting. I also sell on bladeforums and for $30 its a small investment that you easily make back if you sell a couple knives just because you don't have the ebay fees. Recently I have been selling on reddit as well. I like this a lot and best p...

Re: Lc200n Dragonfly 2

Yes black handled lc2000n ffg dragonfly salt. I would buy 3 right off. I already have to scale swap to put black handles with my h1 dragonfly. Save me some trouble and give me LC200n to boot. I'm a happy camper. It really is all you ever need in a knife for most tasks. I have my smuggled in my waist...

Re: Manix 2 Salt?

I would have to pull the trigger on one of these as well. Especially if it was in black as opposed to the bright yellow. I'm loving my native salt but had to do a scale swap with my s30v because the yellow is just too loud for edc for me. I wish they would make all the salts in black frn/trcp. It co...

Re: Best PM2 For Ocean Work?

Yeah the hardware will be the bigger issue. I've had rust on my pm2 hardware from regular use away from water.

Looks good! They need to make it easy on us and drop a blacked out Native Salt soon. And I'm still waiting on a Blacked out Dragonfly 2 Salt. Those would make my 2019 a great year! :)
Agreed. I would greatly want one of each of those! Come on Spyderco please.

Re: native salt!

My scales are sitting in rit dye right now. So far the color looks nearly identical to my s110v lw native. During to dye my carribean scales as well but they aren't taking it as well. can you post a picture when you’re done? i’d love to see it. still thinking about dyeing mine. I will tomorrow, I n...

I’ve never used the liquid.
Ok. Thanks. That just looks like it turned out perfect! I’ve always used the liquid. Wasn’t sure if one was better than the other.

Black powder RIT dissolved in sauce pan, brought to near boil and turned off heat. Also added a little vinegar and dish soap. Suspended knife in solution for 15 minutes. Rinsed under cold water.
So you think the powder works better than the liquid?

Re: native salt!

I RIT dyed the handle for more discreet pocket carry. I did not disassemble because I wanted the symmetry. I also sanded under the clip to make for smoother (un)pocketing. https://i.imgur.com/ONmu8i9l.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bg6kkTRl.jpg Man that took the dye really well. What technique did you use...

Re: native salt!

The pivot on the backside is actually a hexagon shape where it fits into the frn so it won’t turn. No need for a second screwdriver.
