My sponsor has secured the same facility again for another day of defensive knife training in NYC. This class will concentate on unarmed defensive startle responses against a knife attack most of the day. I feel the unarmed responses to a surprise attack with a knife are key to ones initially surviv...

Every new knife of any manufacturer has cut me, usually within the first month, then they leave me alone from then on. The Persian, my latest aquisition got me slightly a few weeks ago, the military I used to carry when I trusted linerlocks got me a few times and then left me alone. Now that I think...

I have both the Bowie and Hawk book by Dwight.

Both are excellent in graphics/drawings and content IMO. Easy to follow the narrative with the drawings provided.

Ones that will stay are the Persian I recently picked up and the Chinook 2 of course.

I may keep my military, and I'll always have an Endura around as well.

One companies loss is anothers gain.

Good luck to Mike in the new venture, he'll always land on his feet with his creds and experience and be in demand from the public sector I'm sure.

Way to go Mike, see you in Sept in Colorado for the camp.

spydercojoe: Go to www.folders-r-us.org and look to the index for knife tests. There is an extensive test and eval of the original which should give you an idea what can be expected of the Chinook. I've had both, the #2 is lighter with a blade mod but basically just an upgraded version which makes i...

I just wanted to add here that many people who train with the knife also carry firearms daily when going about their normal days routines. They train with and carry a knife in conjunction to the gun. That layering idea again. They understand a gun is not always a viable option and may choose to use ...

Why of course, you'll have that Delica. How's that saying go again? A bird in the hand [ or in this case a small folder ] is worth ?. That ...
