I browse around the internet and knife mags and see if something catches my eye. I usually don't buy it right away but it something stays with me and I itch to try, they I track one down. It can go from calling the maker directly, exchanging a few emails to finding a dealer that carries what I like ...

I actually just started writing for Noah, and he has been a friend for a while now. I have my first by-line in the newest issue of Thrust, I did a review of Noahs first DVD. I should have at least 1 full length article next go around. Good on you bro! ahhhh, knife SD, my next step into madness. See...

Knives used it TLC's Take home chef?
Alright my Spydie friends, Haven't been here in a little while. I graduated since last time, started a new job, moved out of my old appartement, what a ride! More on this later The reason I am posting today is because I need the knowledge of this community. My brother and I are avid "Take home ...

I saw Sideways the other day. It was very good. I like wine but that guy is something else! Very funny in a sad kinda way, I really enjoyed. Perfect to watch with the girlfriend :) I also saw Kiss kiss bang bang. Excellent surprise there. Sharp and witty, well written and Robert Downey Jr. is still ...

I'd say Vic Camper, Endura and a Puukko. As much as I love Opinel knives, a good puukko also uses soft but good carbon steel that's easy to sharpen, with a perfect grind for food prep and carving. Also stronger and easier to clean than an opinel. The Sak is for finer cutting and for the saw and the ...

I've been using a couple of Twin Cuisine Henckels for over a year now and while they are by far the best kitchen knives I have ever used, they are not quite as good as I had hoped for. Maybe I was just spoiled on custom knives. I thought the factory edge was very average, fit and finish was not impe...

Just a few words on Henckels. I happen to sell some at the store and own a few. First of all, it is true their catalog is about as thick as a phone book and many lines vary in quality. I think it's unfair to say they are junk because when someone bought one for 10$ at Loblaws. They are divided in tw...

First of all, if you're interested in a Milie, absolutly go for it. It's a great knife all around. I am very pleased with mine. I decided to go combo-edge on mine and haven't regretted it even though I am not really a serration guy. Normally SD guys will prefer PE for the knife because it can make r...

What I don't understand are his prices. The man uses good materials so he doesn't take much of a profit. Well it's not mentionned on the website but the price he advertises is like the model with the basic materials(I don't really know what are the basic materials, D2 and some wood for the handle),...
