Re: I'm going to EDC PE H1 until August
Interesting thread. I have 2 PE Salt's in H1 where the hollow has been ground out - i.e. very thin with almost invisible secondary bevel. In my experience PE Salts holds an edge OK if you don't cut the object on a surface. Even a wooden cutting board will dull the PE edge quickly in my experience so...

Re: Help order from Knifecenter to Europe canceled by Airline
I have given up on ordering knives from the US to Denmark after similar experience. It seems to have worked out for you in the end so that is a good thing.

Re: What do you want in a new Salt knife?
Replacing H1 steel with LC200n in all PE models would make me happy. I have the Native 5 salt but would rather have LC200n in Atlantic, Pacific and Dragonfly models

The Centofante 3 is what you want. Slender with thin hollow ground VG10 blade. It's a laser - love mine

Re: The low grit sharpening thread
Great thread. Apart from excellent coarse edge performance I find it highly satisfying to sharpen using as few tools as possible Tojiro kitchen knife sharpening using 400 Grit sic stone - a bit of “cheating” in the end using ceramic rod to remove any left over burr https://youtu.be/14Z0ZaeSGk4 Small...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
Really interesting thread - thx for taking the time to share your knowledge. I have also started to enjoy the versatility of a SE blade. It started out with the SE Spyderco kitchen utility knife finding more and more use in the kitchen. Great for bread (no s...), vegetables and cutting roasts with h...

Re: native salt!
Overall pretty happy with my Native Salt as a saltwater tool with better edge retenstion than a PE H1. Solid build quality with no blade play etc. Blade not ground all the way back to ricasso so had to add a sharpening choil. Contrary to my other Salts the Native Salt has a steel clip. Not sure what...

Alcyone first impressions
Received my Alcyone yesterday and must say that it is one heck of knfe. Excellent fit and finish. Absolutely no blade in any direction and perfect blade centering. Bought the knife because of the cts-bd1 steel that according to clever folks should behave something like Sandvik 19c27 or MBS 26. The k...

Re: Stainless steel that behaves like a carbon steel
12C27 or 13c26 comes to mind. Tough, fine grained and easy to sharpen. In regards to edge retention Verhoeven compared AEB-L (13c26) to 52100 and 1086 back in 2007 and found that "These experiments support the view that martensitic stainless steels optimized for hardness and fine carbide distrib...

Re: Aqua Salt sheath - Fail
Appreciate your suggestions and reply from customer service. I will give the alternative drawing method a try even though I doubt that a new deviating technique is what I need tangled in a fishing net under water. I have managed to produce a ugly but functional kydex sheath where I can draw the knif...

Aqua Salt sheath - Fail
First post in Spyderco forum - not a good one. I sent a complaint to Spyderco 3 days ago but no reply so decided to share my thoughts here. I live in Denmark (Europe) and have and a nice collection of Spyderco's - Delica's, Salts, Bill Moran, Sprig and Southfork. I really like Spyderco's for it's hi...
