Re: What Spyderco do you think was your best value?

Any of the factory seconds, but more specifically the Police 4 I got for $60 last year has the be the best value I've ever gotten at the sale.

Re: Flashlights

I used a Streamlight Microstream for a few years before I lost it one night, so I replaced it with a Sofirn SP40 with a 4000k led. I'm kind of new to the whole flashlight scene and stumbled across this model on reddit's r/flashlights. Things I like about the light. USB charging, It's really bright, ...

Re: Factory Second Sale GAW!

Alright folks! The give away is officially closed and I have randomly selected a winner. I'd like to say thank you to Sal and the whole Spyderco Crew for always being so kind to the knife community. And with that the winner is DirtMcGirt! Congratulations and I will be reaching out via private messag...

Re: Factory Second Sale GAW!

I love all of the enthusiasm! And I also think it’s really neat to take a knife like this and give it a second chance. I’m kind of new to regrinds and mods in general, so making the spine flat to give it the shape of a delica seemed like a very logical option for me. Thanks for all of the kind words...

Factory Second Sale GAW!

I find myself fortunate enough to have lived near the Spyderco Factory Outlet for over a decade now. In that time I've gone to my fair share of second sales and purchased way too many knives ever single time I went. I know everyone doesn't get the chance to come to the sale, so I would like to give ...

Re: Seconds Sale.

I showed up around 9:30 and I think we were probably in the doors and shopping by 11:30 and purchasing by 1:00. They did trivia while we were in line and I won a bug, forum calendar and delica model.

My haul:

Re: Cutting boards

For those of you wanting a wood cutting board, I really recommend checking out the Epicurean boards. They're not wood, but have a very similar feel and they're NSF approved.

Re: Cutting boards

Epicurean boards are now the standard in our kitchen and camper van. Hygienic and don’t dull edges unduly. This right here! The Epicurean boards are made of richlite, a paper-based fiber, which is the same material they use to make skateboard ramps. I find them to by very thin and durable, but they...

Re: Choose my knife (or my fate) for 4 days!

I voted for the SE Pacific Salt only because I'm curious how it would serve in the woods and what your experience would be like. The Military is the better choice though in my opinion.

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp

When I met Ed last year at the factory seconds sale it was later in the afternoon and the sale was slowing down. Ed was in the main entrance cleaning up chairs and I think that says a lot about him. We got to chat for a few minutes, I told him how my dad EDCs a Schempp Bowie, he told me his thoughts...

Looks like GP Knives has the best deal on Pacific Salts at $71.95, though I'm hoping to find them a little cheaper.

Re: Victorinox photo and discussion thread!

I've been wanting a Swiss Bianco Bushcrafter for a few years now. Maybe I'll have to take a play out of Spydergirl88's playbook and find a farmer to trim down, seriously impressive work! A such a clean workbench too. What size pins on the 93mm? I've seen people go to screw construction on the alox m...

Re: What Are You Driving / Have Driven?

My daily driver is a pretty mundane 2015 Nissan Leaf. I enjoy the smooth power delivery that the electric motor offers and not having a transmission is novel. For fun I have a 1995 Subaru Legacy that I RallyCross with the local SCCA group. The car is all stock, I've focused on reliability since I ha...
