Re: Search by locking mechanism?

Looks like knifecenter has a filter for lock type. You can search by brand, folding knives and then filter the search by a number of criteria from there.

Scroll down a bit towards the bottom of the gray column on the left.

Re: Never Let Your Girl Use Your Knife

I agree with others that the lesson here isn't to not let your girl use your knife, but rather that the responsibility is on the owner of the knife to make sure it's properly maintained. No, she didn't cut herself, stab someone else, or throw it out in the trash. Something much worse.... While she w...

Welcome, L.O.S.T.! Makes perfect sense to me. If anyone's looking for the Titanium Elmax Pingo, it's on Massdrop for $140. I don't know if that's a good price, but figured I'd mention it since it's discontinued. :)

Re: Caly Jr. Sprint

Unfortunately I think KC just changed the verbiage of their usual “your order is in good hands” email to an “out of stock order” email. I have three pre-orders with them and the email is this new wording for all theee. Ahhh, ok. Thanks for the info. Hrumph. :) Edited to add that the "hrumph&qu...

Re: Caly Jr. Sprint

I pre-ordered from KnifeCenter back in December, and instead of getting the usual "order still in process" email I've been getting, today's email was an "out of stock, order will ship as soon as item arrives" message. Does that mean the Calypso Jrs are on the way? Maybe??

*raises hand* I can thumb flick Techno, but I can't flick open any other model and can't middle finger flick open any of 'em. The regular slow thumb push open is fast enough for me. :)

Re: 2018 Spyderco Mid-Year Product Guide - LIVE!

I have plenty of HAP40 and don't really need another PM2 or Para 3 so I'll probably pass on those. That was my first thought, but then I noticed that it doesn't look like these new ones are laminated, and I've been wishing for non-laminated Hap40 since I got the Delica and Caly versions. I'm back t...

Rex 45 is a High Speed Steel. It isn't stainless, is it?
What does it compare to?
Hitachi HAP 40
Oh, dang. That makes me a bit less intrigued. I already have a Caly and Delica in Hap40. Thanks for the info.

Looks like it might be similar to M3 but with a pile of extra cobalt. I'm intrigued!

Re: Which Spydercos lack a thumb ramp?

Off the top of my head, Yojimbo, Mantra 2 and Techno. Dice, Domino, Manix and Chaparral have small humps. Efficient, maybe? Lil Native and Shaman, of course, since they're based off of the Native. Positron? The Lum Chinese models. Sliverax and Ouroboros? Edited to add non one hand openers like Roadi...

That's good PB restored the already linked images, and I think $20 a year is fair. Re: Pick a favorite out of these 5....

Caly 3 all the way. It just feels best in hand for me. I'd love a lightweight version, and I wish I could customize it with a lanyard or custom scales, but it's still my all time fav. Not all that practical a choice, though, since it's not a current production model and there aren't many easily obta...

Lots of dark on mine, which I don't mind at all since the front and back are decently matched. It has a kind of charred look to it, which is kinda cool. :)
