Why is it tip down only?
As long as it is, if it was tip up it would take 5 minutes and 3 hands to pull it out and open it.

Re: Production knife classics? (Modern)

Gerber Sportsman 1, 2 and 3 were classics in their day. 440C and even Vascowear ( a few years in the 80's in the Sportsman 2 ). Pretty sporty stuff for those days. Hey Joe, I remember the Sportsman although I never owned one but I had a flash ivory micarta folder back then around the mid 80’s plus ...

Re: What’s up with the military?

Do you prefer the Military to the PM 2? Hey Barry, I can only echo Killer's words above. After carrying a Military for maybe a year or more I decided to carry my PM2 one day. I put it in my pocket and mustn't have opened it beforehand. After I got to work and did opened it, I had a little chuckle t...

Re: Jeweler's Loupes & Magnifying devices?

Hey Bloke, do I remember right in that you have a magnifying visor you use sometimes? If so, can you tell us a bit more about that? Does anyone else use one? Camber, I’ve used this old US made OptiVISOR for close to three decades and I s’pose it’s starting to show. They’re a well made quality item ...

Re: Long Term Knife Storage Corrosion Protection

This looks interesting: Eezox is your friend! ;) I’ve used it for well over a decade on guns, knives, reloading press, tools, chrome wheels … It’s not much of a lubricant but I doubt you’ll find a better rust inhibitor. I can't speak for it on knives. But, I use Eezox on all of my guns. It's the be...

Belomo Triplet 10x loupe. Made in Belarus. It has a steel frame and they claim to use Zeiss lenses.

That's what I've got also.
I think they're an excellent loupe and well priced. I also think you don't truly see the difference in optics till you actually compare a few side by side. :)

Re: Permanent damage that you've actually done to a knife?

When I was young and a genius I figured I could smooth out a rough and stiff, pinned back lock with a little valve lapping paste. About twenty five years ago, not long after loosing a much loved Gerber Pixie I started using its brother a Gerber Bird and Trout. These little fixed blades ha...

Huh, I wonder why if there were problems with those since all the production ones are still sabre ground.
The only thing that I can think of is being such thin blade stock perhaps there may be warping/distortion in grinding and heat treatment, but I don't rightly know. :)

Re: GITD Ladybug Distributor Exclusive

Not FFG? Are any vg-10 ones ffg? Hi Julia, there was an exclusive with pink scales a few years ago (can't remember where) that was FFG. I wanted to buy a couple for my granddaughters (They're still not old enough to be playing with razor sharp folders. Ah, hahaha!) but shipping was ridic...

Re: Province - Corrosion Resistance

Welcome to the Forum, taklev! :) What concerns me about wetting any carbon steel knife is not what I can see but what I can’t see like water getting between scales and blade stock. I never run any knife under underwater if I can help it except for Salt series knives and I reckon it’s saved me heartb...
