Manix Rust?

I recently purchased a Manix, and am concerned that it may be rusting. The part of the blade that hooks up with the lock back has a red-rust colored look. I tried wiping it with a q-tip dipped in oil, but the q-tip came up clean. So I am wondering if maybe this is some kind of protective coating for ...

What hawkbill type knives has Spyderco made in the last few years?

Black coated blades

What knives does :spyder: make with a black coated blade? I know they offer it on the Military and Paramilitary, but are there any others? I'd love to see a black bladed Manix.

Flagship usualy means the top of the line. The most expensive, best made model. The Delica is a classic Spyderco, but it's not the top of the line. The flagship would probably be the Military. ****, the Delica isn't even made at the Spyderco plant.

Endura, Delica

I'm wondering if anyone knows why :spyder: uses VG10 blades for the FRN handled enduras and delicas, but AUS6 for the stainless ones?

Touching up with the Sharpmaker

If a knife is still sharp, and you just want to touch up the blade, get it back to razor sharp, is there any need to follow steps 1 and 2 with the brown rods? Why not just start at step 3 on the white rods?

Emerson CQC7 lists for $160, and the Benchmade 910 lists for $130. Millie lists for $180. ;)

Well, one way of looking at it is that the Military has been on the market, and selling well, for going on ten years now. If there were a pattern of failure in normal use, it would have surfaced by now. Knowing Spyderco, if that had happened, it would have been addressed and solved.

If I ...

I just wish they made it with a more substantial lock, like the compression lock. Either that, or add titanium liners to it. Maybe for 2006 :D

Military Liner-lock

I recently got a Black Blade Military :spyder: and have a question about the lock. What kind of steel is the liner-lock made of? Also, can this type of lock stand up to hard use?
