Re: Any 'Pull Through' Sharpeners worth a Darn?
Another vote for the Sharpmaker here. Turned several pretty dull, heavily used kitchen knives shaving sharp in just a few minutes. Also, it makes maintaining a sharp edge on the knives you use extremely easy.

Re: How the **** did this happen? (PM2 appreciation)
Yeah, I only have one PM2 (so far), and it's the digi camo, black blade version. I opted for that one since I have other knives with black handles and satin finishes...though none of those are of the quality of the PM2. I just wanted a different look. It's clipped to my pocket most times, though tod...

Re: EDC and the general public
I have never been questioned about my knife by a stranger or a LEO and I carry two knives clipped everyday and have for quite a long time. People who know me are well aware of my interest in cutlery so they would be more apt to comment if they couldn't see any clips. Of course, I also EDC fixed bla...

Re: EDC and the general public
It's no issue here in Kentucky. I have, depending on what I'm doing, either my Manix2, PM2, or a ZT 0350 clipped to my pocket any time I leave the house. This counts for office things as well. The only issue I had is that I had to inform the armed security that I carry a Spyderco every day. Not only...

Re: Proud owner of a new Chaparral
Yeah, I had the same problem with my Manix2 LW. Loosened the pivot about 1/8 of a turn, and now it's absolutely perfect. No blade play, either.

Congrats on your FIRST Spyderco. It certainly won't be the last.
I predict a Paramilitary 2 and possibly a Manix 2 n your near future. Both are amazing knives. My PM2 is currently in my pocket as I type this.

Re: Seeking a recommendation ...
Ok, so I just ordered a Manix 2 LW Translucent Blue ... mainly because its completely different than any knife I've carried. Should be here Monday! ... and a Mule  Manix2 LW is a fantastic blade. I have this exact one, and love it. The CPM steel isn't as hard as the Crucible variants, but...

Re: Paramilitary 2 from BladeHQ
Mine was fairly stiff at first, but now I can flick it open with my middle finger, no problems. It doesn't yet swing freely, but it's fairly close.

Re: Paramilitary 2 from BladeHQ
As has been said, there is no worry about the legitimacy of your knife. BladeHQ is completely legit. As far as the stiffness of the pivot, that's not uncommon. It probably just needs to be broken in. People have suggested a little oil on the pivot, You can get the right size torx driver to adjust it...

Re: my coworker had success with Amazon
Yeah, I got my PM2 and Manix 2 LW from them with no issues of any kind. They're pretty reliable, so long as you get the items labeled "sold by Amazon".

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Since today was an off day, I typically wear gym/basketball shorts due to the temperature, and doing yard work, etc. Manix 2 LW is perfect for these due to its extreme light weight. Doesn't hurt that I used the Sharpmaker and the ultra fine stones to put a hair whittling edge on it. :)

Re: Spyderchef size??
The more I look at this knife, the more I'm falling in love with that blade shape. I'm going to HAVE to own one of these, as I do a fair bit of food prep/cooking, and this just looks easier to use than the Henckels that my gf prefers. Is there any sort of pre-order list that we can place our names o...

Re: Spyderchef size??
That blade shape is amazing. I'd love to have that same blade in another knife with a more negative angle for EDC, but the current angle will be great for food prep. It's a bummer it won't be at least 4 inches though, I get tomatoes and onions that are thicker than 3.4 inches. 100% agree with this....

Re: EDC Flippers - to lube or not to lube?
I don't do it often on my EDC blades, but I've previously used a drop of two of gun oil from just one of my standard cleaning kits. It seemed to work well. None of my higher end knives need it though.

Also, sort off topic, but two observations: 1) If "Evil D" is in reference to the Evil Dead movies, then you should know where my forum name originates from; :D 2) I am also located in Kentucky, just a few miles south of Lexington. Back on topic, I am glad that my purchase seems to be vali...

Re: Well, I invested in a Sharpmaker
For a total reprofile, yeah, I can see that. Seems like the medium stones that come with the Sharpmaker would take a LOT of work to get that done. But for maintaining an edge, or touching a blade up? Seems like this is the easiest, most time efficient way to get that done since I'm awful at free han...
