Like Blade5 says, the proto pics look just like the real thing...with the exception of hte writing on the blade and the Pivot Pin and rivets that hold the G10 to the steel are different. With those minor differences, the blade shape looks the same.

Blade5 is right, the opening is super smooth and the blade is scary sharp....and I mean SHARP!!! Lock up is solid. I do find that the finger choil is a little big for my index finger...the choil was smaller on the Ronin. The handle on the Ronin fit my hand better than the Yojimbo, but the Yojimbo is...

Thanks for the link.
I think the site you directed me to only states that spring loaded telescopic batons are illegal (these are used by Japan Police). These are activated by pushing a button and the baton activates via spring load.
As far as I know, they are still grey area items,

I think the edge geometry, handle ergonomics, and cutting ability on the Ronin are amazing!!! But I have have a concern that the tip may break, has spyderco done any testing on this. I also find the micarta handle a little slippery, I wonder if they will make it with G10 or add kraton to the next mo...
