Re: Essentialism: what are your "vital few" Spydies?

I have seven Spyderco knives at the moment (S110V PM2, S30V PM2, Delica 4 PE, Delica 4 HAP40, Dragonfly, Dragonfly HAP40, and Chaparral). It didn't start out as my favorite but the plain vanilla Delica 4 has really bubbled up as my favorite of this bunch. Easy to sharpen on the Sharpmaker, really sm...

I have a PM2 S30V and PM2 S110V - blade length exactly the same on each.

PM2 feels really balanced to the hand when open though. Personally I don't see the point in adding to the blade length on the PM2. If you need a longer blade there are other Spyderco knives with longer blades. :)

Re: Kitchen Shears Recommendation

Hey Spydergirl88 -- I agree it would be great if Spyderco made scissors. I can throw out a few recommendations as our house seems to go through scissors quickly. My wife sews and has a variety of specialty scissors for various tasks. The more general scissors that we keep in the kitchen seem to get ...

Re: Knife on Keyring = Dangerous?

Big thanks to Spydergirl88, Monocrom, JT and everyone else who mentioned the lesson is to build some EDC first-aid kits. I didn't even know what Steri-Strips were until Spydergirl88 mentioned them. Spent some time today reading about Steri-Strips and first-aid kits. Did some preliminary shopping at ...

never get tired of Tommy Emmanuel
Hey Branden - big fan of Tommy Emmanuel also. My wife and I saw his show in Cleveland a few years ago and he was great. Looking forward to catching his show next time he comes to town. His new album, It's Never Too Late, is highly recommended also.

Re: Knife on Keyring = Dangerous?

saw anyone at the salad bar in a grocery store dripping blood I may have embellished my initial post a bit to make it more of an adventure. After I finished rinsing the cut in cold water the bleeding had pretty much stopped. My hand was also wrapped and in my pocket at the salad bar. I definitely w...

Knife on Keyring = Dangerous?

Embarrassing incident with a small knife this afternoon. I was driving to the grocery store to pickup lunch. I stopped the car in the parking lot and was listening to a news story on the radio. While listening I noticed a hangnail on my finger so opened the scissors on my small knife which is attach...

Re: Small Spydies

This is a fun discussion and provides lots of information on smaller Spyderco's I did not know about. Just this week I received a CF Chap with CTS-XHP and have been enjoying it. I really like the G10 version of the Dragonfly. I may try to get that one soon.

Re: Since a bunch of shaving related threads have come up...

Three years ago switched to DE with brush and soap. Initial reason was the high cost of cartridge razors but quickly learned that DE was better for my skin and more enjoyable and much less expensive too. I buy blades 100 at a time now and about once a year I buy a variety of soap that will last a lo...

Re: Hello, Helpful People Of The Forum

Welcome! The Dragonfly 2 was my first Spyderco also. I now have two - a 'regular' orange one and the HAP40 version. I really like the Dragonfly 2 as it is so light in my pocket that I don't know it's there (until I need it!). I'm a newbie in the forum too....

Re: Introduction and Thanks

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome. Looks like I hit a nerve with my mention of the boy scout knife with spoon and fork. I was honestly thinking that might not be considered very cool in these parts when I wrote my introduction. Great to see the nice mix of 'old timers' (I will be 57 in a fe...

Introduction and Thanks

I was a kid in the 1960s and at that time fascinated with pocket knives. Last year I found a photo from my seven or eighth birthday. I was standing outside holding my new pocket knife - the kind that had a fork, spoon, and just about every other tool possible. That photo got me wondering what curren...
