The Shaman is my favorite knife and m...

Nice! Consistent hardness is one of the big reasons why I'm a fan of spyderco's s30v. It's dependable!

Re: Sell me the Amalgam !

Hi there! This knife is one of my favorites, there's a lot of good info here: https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=77599 Just read in that thread that Brian Lai' s measurement shows thickness bte at 0.027 ... I had the impression that it's lower .... bummer Decent for batoning though, it held...

Ed's top drawer on anything he does. I believe Eric has plans to "Sprint" some of his older designs.

fun fact though - the PM2 primary distal taper is flat on one side and slightly convex on the other. ;)

I just checked all of my PM2s. Their distal tapers are symmetrical and slightly convex on both sides.
Good to know! :)

Shaman for me - it covers the majority of my needs just fine. There are edge cases where other blades work better, but for my hands and uses, it's perfect.

this is incredible news: some of the absolutely amazing older designs, updated with screw construction and modern steel, yet retaining the incredible Schempp ergonomics?

I'd have to check, I haven't noticed it on any other model. The edge is well centered in the grind regardless :)

Re: Novice here in need of experts opinion on Lil' Native

Looks like the edge grind is a little uneven. That's easily fixed and will disappear as you use the knife :)

fun fact though - the PM2 primary distal taper is flat on one side and slightly convex on the other. ;)

Since we're already getting the Shaman, I'd probably ask for this combo in some of the Hossom fixed blades from years past....

Re: The low grit sharpening thread

I had the opportunity to sharpen a buddy's knife in 154 CM and boy did it like the brown SM stones. Rarely felt that type of response and the edge was both shaving sharp and very aggressive.

Do you guys recommend the diamond SM rods for reprofiling?

Re: Spyderco Sheepsfoot Blades: Likes, Dislikes and Favorite Models?

I hope to see more in the future - I came up with an idea for a sheepsfoot Lil native a while back... I'd be ALL OVER THAT! Me too!! I made a thread for it a while back (see link below), don't want to derail the broader sheepsfoot discussion here :) Still, very happy to know it's an appealing desig...
