Re: Spyderco serration history

Thanks for the portal into Spyderco history, Sal. I once took a week and carried nothing but an Atlantic Salt. That was enough to convince me that whatever my primary knife was, I always needed to carry something else in Spyderedge. What impresses me the most about serrations is how they completely ...

Re: Crunch-Time Hardware? Spyders For Trying Times?

Pandemic carry hasn't changed much from normal carry. I always have at least a flashlight, a prybar and small Leatherman (all on keys) , along with my hawkbill Dfly2. Primary knife has been the CruCarta Shaman, and it's been performing spectacularly. I've seen a bunch of people needing to liquidate ...

Southard for me. First knife over 50 bucks, so I decided to go hard, haha.

Probably flipped it a zillion times. I've moved away from framelocks now.

Re: 1st spiderco

Both are good options, but if you're looking for some reassuring heft and a lock with zero play, the manix is the way to go.

Pick up a Chaparral LW afterwards to see the other side of the spectrum.

Another option to consider is the sage 5 LW, it's a fantastic all around option.
