New Proposed Model - Spyderco Antilles

Greetings all, This is an idea that's been kicking around at the back of my mind for a while now. It's based on the intersection of some of my favorite knife characteristics, and I believe it might fill a gap. I really enjoy compression locks, and the Caribbean brings that easy to use, safe, sturdy ...

Re: s30v spyderco's acceptable

I'll take s30v over s35vn any day of the week, and nights and weekends too. I'm just curious why? I actually like S35VN better but I think it just has to do with it being a little more exclusive in Spyderco's line up vs S30V. I find s30v to be much more consistent in performance. Across different m...

I can't trust Ti-Steel lock interfaces anymore.
Why?
I've had them wear out.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

The chief looks like a truly fantastic model. It reminds me that I need to get a native in G10 sometime. (more damasteel? :D )

Re: Ikuchi with titanium scales and CTS-XHP?

As long as the Ti is a 1:1 replacement for the existing scales and not an integral comp lock. I can't trust Ti-Steel lock interfaces anymore.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

As someone with larger hands, the delica has unfortunately always been too small to comfortably grip. The endura is much better, but having something under 3.5 should be 'just right'.

Re: Shaman thoughts

Certified Shaman fanboy here: I too noticed the hint of sharpness on the handle corners grabbing the inside of my hand during certain grips, but 30 seconds with some 1000-grit sandpaper and a light touch was all it needed to knock it back. Aside from that, the Shaman is pretty much the only Spydie I...

Re: Casual Sage 5 Lightweight reveal

I've gotta say that lockbacks are imo up there in reliability next to the comp lock. I'll take either of those over most frame locks. If we're looking at lock features, we could rank the various locks in all sorts of ways. Safety? lockback, axis, CBBL, and compression locks all keep your hands away ...

Re: You're So Jaded...

I definitely need another lil native. When the Shaman initially hit, I didn't have the resources to buy it immediately, but once I did get it in my hands, it clicked so well that it's my easy answer to the "you only get to keep one knife, what is it" question. I can do anything I need to do with it,...
