In my 40 years of carrying a knife, I'm sad to say I've never learned how to properly sharpen a knife. I have tried several times (even tried the stone my father used) but seldom get a very sharp edge and/or else one side has a different angle compared to the other. I have a Lansky Diamond Ceramic 4...

For those who aren't already fairly well versed in sharpening ZDP can be a challenge, the Sharpmaker is a really good way to get good results from a challenging steel... for those with an old Arkansas stone, some Norton bench stones (fine India excepted) or even worse a carbide pull-sharpener ZDP-1...

I'd spurge for the orange. It's actually less threatening somehow in safety orange than even the black. And if its your favorite color, you might like it more! They are both absolutely fantastic as small EDC knives. The Chaparral is less a "working" knife, as it was intended as a gents folder, but mine is a user and it does plenty of work just fine. The DF2 is going to be better with gloves or in a wet situation, as the CF scales on the Chaparra...

Robin 2...quickly becoming my go to EDC. Perfect size, perfect weight, super sharp, solid, and a blade that's fun to open.

For me, the Chap is definitely easier to open than the DF. The opening hole on the Chap is bigger and since the handle on the DF is smaller, it is more difficult to get a good grip for one handed opening. I would go with a dragonfly. For a small knife it's really comfortable in the hand. Also the wire clip is pretty discreet. Which version?
