It seems like you almost would have to resharpen your knife after every prep session, though. I scrolled through most of the reviews on this one and didn't find anybody talking about how quickly it dulled ...

Hmmm...maybe installing the Spyderco app on my phone wasn't such a great idea.

I guess I run in the wrong circles because almost nobody I know even carries a knife, except maybe on a multi-tool in their backpack or something like that, and I definitely don't have any friends who are into knives as a hobby.

Thanks to St Nicks for another really well planned and executed drop! Got mine today and it's an instant favorite. The colors are awesome and the quality control is also great on my example, as others have mentioned.

My only complaint is they need to start dropping some models I don't like! :)

Really impressed with this one. This is the first knife I've had with this type of micarta handle, the texture feels great. It actually has that soft feel on the surface like a canvas shoe or bag, which I did not expect. Other micarta knives I've handled always had the smooth, shiny type that is ...

But I have to admit, you guys did open my eyes to considering one of the offerings made in Taiwan, for I apparently mistakenly assumed that the location was (also) chosen for it low labor costs Vs. image of quality.

They must have gotten a small batch. Their website shows it as OOS now. Hopefully supply will catch up with demand soon.


You might want to check again. It seems to be a glitch on their site for me - the search page with the thumbnail image says OOS, but if I click through to the product detail ...

I kind of put it in the same category as the recessed lock release on the GB1 & GB2. It lessens the "fidget factor" if you're sitting there opening and closing the knife over and over, but in normal use it's not really that big of a deal imo.
