Re: Sprints

May as well throw my two cents in. I like sprints and exclusives because rightly or wrongly I believe that they allow me the opportunity to see and purchace more of the speciality knives I want. I think there have only been two sprints I wanted that I haven't managed to get. Those that have missed o...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Took my Dodo to work :D We were in the warehouse today so I could bring a bigger knife than the ladybug for a change :D Cut a lot of palate straps, zip ties, cardboard and plastic wrap. A great work knife. They should do another run of these in rex and burnt orange for the folks who missed this run....

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Just ordered a Custom McNees. New model, they're not ready yet, but I'll be getting one of the first batch. I'm exited this will be my first full custom, and will be an edc work knife.

I'd be curious if some kind of scratch test could be done with an object if similar hardness.
Nope
SE H1 wont scratch 68? Any idea what it will?

Re: HRC Database

In regards to the H-1 numbers, I would be sceptical if they hadn't come from Sal and Spyderco. I trust their numbers.

Re: ZDP-189 - Overrated or Super Steel?

There are a few Spyderco Steels I never hesitate to buy, meaning that if I see a design I like, and it has one of those steels, I don't hesitate to pick one up. ZDP-189 is most definitely on the list of steels I don't hesitate to buy.

Re: ZDP-189 - Overrated or Super Steel?

Ive seen zdp rust. But after you get a little 'patina' on it, it holds up great as a stainless.

Re: Finer CBN/diamond rods for the sharpmaker?

I'd buy more CBN rods for the sharpmaker in ANY grit, coarser or finer. More options is a good thing, I'd have uses for both. There are steels that really should only be sharpened with cbn/diamond. Ideally I want an extra coarse, a medium, fine, and extra fine CBN. I have this set up for my KME and ...

Looks like you did a great job on that chip Matt!! I remember when you were pretty bummed about that. Well done!
Thanks! This knife still sees a lot of use. It's my go to food knife for ribs, steak, chicken, etc.

Re: Your TWO To Return In 2020

Criss and Hungarian K390 or S110V Glad you brought up the KRIS model there "Zrow" because for a long time I've wondered what that model would be like in SE. But it's not the only Spyderco Recurve type model I would like to see with a serious upgrade in materials. that would be fun with serrations.
