Re: DLT Trading Yojimbo 2 20 CV DLC Exclusive

I have the tan PM2 with the satin blade and it's basically lived in one of my knife boxes but I keep it around because I like it for some strange reason. Normally a light color isn't my thing. Not sure what it is about this one I hear ya, I loved how that knife looked! But then I was getting wild b...

Re: New Knife Steel Ratings by Knife Steel Nerds

As far as I know (just what I heard) HAP 40 is run "softer" than REX 45 indeed. They say HAP 40can´t be as hard due to the cladding with SUS410 (again, just repeating what I read). Now, from what you say, being a bit softer could actually be an advantage. Still: My REX 45 Manix LW seems t...

Re: DLT Trading Yojimbo 2 20 CV DLC Exclusive

DLT is killing my wallet this year :woozy Seriously though, I wonder how close their tan G10 is to the brown scales of the distributor exclusive that came out a few years ago. https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C85GBNBK2/Yojimbo-2-G-10-Brown-Black-Blade-CPM-S90V-Exclusive/1114 I'm guessing it...

Re: Question about sharpening with Spyderco Sharpmaker

I have the very old model with only one angle setting. I am not positive, but I believe it is 40 degrees. It works well, and keeps my knives sharp. I wouldn't be able to reprofile with it though, at least not easily. Yes, the older 203 models were only 40°. That's what I used for many years until I...

I have no means to get an accurate measurement for the washers. What size am I looking for?

thank you in advance for your time.
I think your best bet is to email spyderco customer service and ask for washer dimensions.
I doubt they'd provide information like that

Re: Question about sharpening with Spyderco Sharpmaker

What angle do folks use for their knives, particularly Spyderco Knives, on the Tri-Angle Spyderco Sharpmaker? 30 degrees or 40 degrees? It kind of depends but I almost always use the 40° side. Since the factory edge on most Spyderco knives I've seen is somewhere around 35° (inclusive), you'll usual...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

If all you're interested in is edge retention, looking at Larrin's edge retention charts, I can see how you might be disappointed. I'm not cutting all day with my knives at work. So for my general EDC use it's been great (but so has everything else I have haha) I've taken a look before, but I'll be...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

More than I can say about Cruwear. Second day of use this week and it already can barely scrape shave, where on Monday morning before work it was popping hairs without touching the skin. I honestly think Cruwear is overrated. I've had it in a Manix and Shaman as well and it has never impressed me. ...

Re: Is the CBBL dead???

My Manix LW BD1N can be open easily, and it's a drop shut action with no play. Maybe I was lucky. I did have to put no oil and use it for a month before it became hyper smooth tho. I've had 10 or 11 Manix 2s. Some LWs & some G10s. The action on all have been fine. I might've loosened a pivot a ...

Re: Show off your 3d Printed Spyderco Mods/Creations!

Some time ago I got into the habit of holding my thumb on the top of my Sharpmaker rods while reprofiling to hold them steady. With diamond and CBN rods this starts to get a little uncomfortable after a while. I also have a bad habit when I don't have my thumb there or sometimes coming straight dow...

If you HAD to choose... What would be the next knife to LEAVE your collection? Selling, gifting, trading, throwing away, whatever...which one is the next to go? I have a couple new target rifles in mind. So there's actually a few on my list. Top of the list in a PM2 REX45 Sprint and next is probabl...
