Re: So I got a Smock

Mine flips great! They take a little getting used to compared to other flippers though

Re: Sage 5 big brother

I like the Sages with 3" blades. So I'm happy with them as is. I also like the CBBL. So if I want something a little bigger I go with the Manix 2. The difference in blade stock thickness is only .007". So still fairly slicey. No interest in a bigger Sage but have nothing against someone el...

I have made zero adjustments as I don’t want to void my warranty should repair be indicated.
Adjusting the pivot won't void your warranty as long as you don't damage anything. Use the proper size torx bit have at it

I've adjusted the pivot on almost every Spyderco knife I've owned

Re: New Chicago CTS-BD1N (some good, some bad)

I've only handled a couple knives from the budget line (Persistence & Cat) but the action on both were pretty good. However, I'm pretty sure I had to adjust the pivot screws a little. Have you tried to adjust the pivot? It doesn't usually take much. Maybe an 1/8 - 1/2 turn of the screw? A tiny d...

Re: N.F.L. 2021-2022 Season

We don't do seasons here... 9 months of hell on earth and 3 months of mild temps I think it's funny how the native Texans complain about the heat. It's not that bad. I always tell my girl I can take the heat a lot better than I can take frigid cold. I do sometimes miss winter but I don't miss freez...

Re: N.F.L. 2021-2022 Season

Leaves changing is always stunning in our area. This is from last Saturday when we took a hike near Salmon River Falls. I bet they look even better this coming weekend! https://i.postimg.cc/0yVn4bhN/Resized-20211007-160735002.jpg That's one thing I really miss about where I'm from. The leaves don't...

Re: NHL Season Openers!

The Chicago Blackhawks had a horrible 1st period, but played well in the 2nd and 3rd. Colorado Avalanche over the Chicago Blackhawks 4 to 2. At the end of the first period the shots on goal was like 17-3 in Colorado's favor. We're not going to win many games with no defense. It's early on a long se...

I remember years ago as a kid watching All Star Wrestling on Fox32 Chicago. All these years later and the only thing that's really changed is it's not in black and white anymore lol

Re: Smock exclusives?

I have the smooth black G10 & 20CV one and like it just fine. But the OP says they won't buy a black knife lol. I think it looks really classy but to each their own. Personally, other than having a lot of it, S30V has served me very well. I'd just buy the regular production one and put different...

Re: More Bolt-action locks please

I think part of the reason we might not see more models with the B-A lock (or CBBL) is because the lock requires the blade and handle to be a little taller than other lock systems. So my guess it you have basically have to design the knife around the lock. If you compare the Sage 3 with the other Sa...

Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!

That knife proved to be surprisingly popular. Perhaps they will do another run one of these days? The forward jimping/index finger ergos take the usefulness of these little guys to the next level, imo. Initially, I felt the GITD was a little gimmicky and almost hesitated on buying one.. but I'm rea...

Re: Should Zome be Discontinued?

Why should it be up to us to decide? I'm pretty sure Spyderco uses sales numbers to decide whether or not to discontinue something. I don't necessarily like the Zome patterns but I'd never ask for something to be discontinued just because I don't like it. Kind of self-centered IMO

Never thought I’d carry a Shirogorov for a work knife 🤣🤣 [img]https://i.imgur.com/7euXLul.jpg[/img I know right? But they're so good you simply can't not use them! ;) They really are that good. Alright STOP with the Shiro talk! You're killing me! I'll be joining you one of these days.....

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat

I think they're kind of silly to be honest lol If you change scales often it's way easier to deal with than a press fit lanyard tube. Especially if you never use a lanyard 🤷‍♀️ I get it. I don't use lanyards either but the lanyard tube doesn't bother me. Plus I think the plug looks kind of weird. I...

Re: Ways to verify I have a legit sharpmaker?

I've never heard of a fake Sharpmaker. The stones do move around in the slots but they sit pretty when you put back pressure on them. I improved the slots a little when I made the special bases for one of the guys here. The stones vary in size a little. So there has to be enough clearance to fit all...
