For me, the most significant difference between the two is the blade shape. I understand on picture they look very similar, but Sage (at least the one I got) is pretty wide near the tip, while Manix tapers down more aggressively. They're both fine knives and you really can't go wrong with either. As far as which one to buy, only you can know which one will be better for you. If I had to pick one for general EDC it would be the Sage 5

I'm still hoping the Sage6 will be a button lock or CBBL, as long as it doesn't require expanding the body of the knife like the Sage3. Nah! I kind of had that same attitude for awhile. Now I have 150+ knives, many of which never get carried

I do like the Sage line though and I'm looking forward to (hopefully) a Sage 6 & 7

LOL! I have all of them except the Black FRN LW and DLC M4 LW. I'm sure I'll end up with a couple more LWs at some point but don't feel the need to have all of them

Since I have all the other SNK models and I'm also a fan of the UKPK I'd be in for sure!
