Re: Thank you Sal

I'm sometimes amazed by Sal's poise and grace. Some of the stuff I read (sometimes here but mostly on the FB groups) makes me want to scream. Some incredible displays of ignorance out there. When I see those types of comments I have to think of how Sal would respond. It honestly keeps me from writin...

Re: S35VN?

I have a bunch of knives in S35VN and a bunch in S30V. They're definitely very close and I enjoy using both. To me S35VN seems to sharpen a little differently. Not sure how to explain it but it seems like it's a little easier to sharpen.

Re: When / where was the first time you heard of or saw a spyderco?

Back in the early 90's a friend that helped at our gun shop wanted some gun part of mine. I think was something on a used gun I bought and wasn't going to use. Thinking about it I'm pretty sure it was the wood grips from my S&W model 10 because I now kind of regret trading them. He knew I like sharp...

Re: Couldn't hack the Gayle Bradley 2

Sorry to revive an old thread, took the photo below this morning and thought might be interesting for others. Funnily enough I have no problems closing the GB1, but it's hard to close my GB2; don't really understand why. So my GB1 stays unmodified, but the GB2 looks like this now: https://photos.sm...

Re: Spyderco Mobile IOS App - Giveaway!

Earlier I opened FB on my PC at work and saw Kristi's mobile IOS giveaway. My personal phone is an Android but being a sucker for Spydie stickers I had to (rather hurriedly) try to figure out how to install the app on my work iPhone. By the time I installed the app and took a screenshot it was too l...

Re: Chaparral Raffir Noble - Just Got One - Question

I can't really see anything in your pics. Send it back if you're not happy with it. Looks like you got one with a nice pattern. Not always the case. So if it were me I'd probably keep it. If you carry it much it'll eventually get marked up anyway.

Re: Improving detent on GB2

Hello All, New here. I have a GB2 with a bit of what I think is a weak detent. Despite that, it is still my favorite Spydie to carry. Does anyone have experience swapping detent balls or would anyone suggest sending back to spyderco for a possible solution. Thanks! Welcome Joss. You can certainly t...

Wow KC! Gorgeous! I will be giving one of these to my dad for Father's day. He loves small knives and nice "wood" grain.
Very nice! I'm sure you dad will love it.

I may just have to order myself one of these

Re: KC Exclusive Ladybug

Grabbed one for a Father's Day gift... Knife Center either really cherry picked one for their pics, or I just got an ugly one :( http://i.imgur.com/IVlxaM0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Btv955e.jpg It's a bit of a coin toss. My Delica has a darker finish (similar to yours) on one side and lighter on the o...

That would be a welcome change for me. I don't mind the hourglass clips but I much prefer the wire clips, especially on the LW models.

Re: ready for a new native

As far as I'm concerned, one of the best features of the Native 5 is the refined back lock.

I know we all want different things but there's no way that Spyderco can make every version of each model that someone asks for. Plenty of options with the comp lock in the line up already.

Re: New stones for Edge Pro.

I was going to post that I used my Moldmasters when I reprofiled my Maxamet Native 5. Then I looked back at some pics on my phone and it appears that I actually used my Venev bonded diamonds for at least the initial reprofile. I've honestly been surprised by how well Moldmasters cut even on high car...
