Re: Reprofiling M390 using Sharpmaker CBN rods

http://i.imgur.com/xmW6gUH.jpg :) I actually did this to give me a much wider range of grits for touching up harder steels. For reprofiling I'd still prefer using my Hapstone but I may give it a go with this one of these days. I tried using the SM with the CBN rods a couple times and it was kind of...

I've found that Lynch clips are very nice, but come at a premium price and are sometimes a little hard to find....
Usually not hard to find if you know where to look. Next time you're looking for one just send Casey an email. He usually has most styles in stock.

Re: What are the odds we see a Mantra 3 LW?

I might consider it. I love my Mantra and planned on buying a Mantra 3. But I ultimately decided not to because it's almost a cross between the Mantra and Sliverax. A FRN Mantra 3 might just get me to try one if the FRN color is right.

Re: AEB-L Urban sprint issue.

Thanks for the positive input. I was getting the idea that none of the K390 Urbans were worth looking for. FWIW, my K390 Urban is great. No issues whatsoever. I follow these forums daily and I'd never even heard there was some with issues until it was mentioned in this thread. My memory is not as a...

Sorry for your loss TazKristi!

I saw on Spyderco's Facebook group that Kristi's mom passed away. We all know how difficult it is to lose a loved one. I think it would be nice show her some support.

Kristi, I'm truly sorry for your loss. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

I received my hard copy the other day. It didn't disappoint just like all the other advertising literature I've received from Spyderco.

Re: a painful lesson relearned

Sorry to hear about this BS Matt! I can't believe someone would have the nerve to leave you the empty package. Stuff like this is why I put a Wyze cam on my front a couple months ago. It may not have helped in your situation but you never know. https://www.amazon.com/Wyze-Indoor-Wireless-Camera-Visi...

Re: Why is the compression lock on my sage different from other comp locks?

I've had two Sage 5s and they can be finicky to dial in. It took me a while to get the one I currently have set so the blade drops and I can easily close one-handed. It has a tiny bit of blade play but nothing I can actually feel while cutting.

Re: Thank you Sal

I'm sometimes amazed by Sal's poise and grace. Some of the stuff I read (sometimes here but mostly on the FB groups) makes me want to scream. Some incredible displays of ignorance out there. When I see those types of comments I have to think of how Sal would respond. It honestly keeps me from writin...

Re: S35VN?

I have a bunch of knives in S35VN and a bunch in S30V. They're definitely very close and I enjoy using both. To me S35VN seems to sharpen a little differently. Not sure how to explain it but it seems like it's a little easier to sharpen.

Re: When / where was the first time you heard of or saw a spyderco?

Back in the early 90's a friend that helped at our gun shop wanted some gun part of mine. I think was something on a used gun I bought and wasn't going to use. Thinking about it I'm pretty sure it was the wood grips from my S&W model 10 because I now kind of regret trading them. He knew I like sharp...

Re: Couldn't hack the Gayle Bradley 2

Sorry to revive an old thread, took the photo below this morning and thought might be interesting for others. Funnily enough I have no problems closing the GB1, but it's hard to close my GB2; don't really understand why. So my GB1 stays unmodified, but the GB2 looks like this now: https://photos.sm...

Re: Spyderco Mobile IOS App - Giveaway!

Earlier I opened FB on my PC at work and saw Kristi's mobile IOS giveaway. My personal phone is an Android but being a sucker for Spydie stickers I had to (rather hurriedly) try to figure out how to install the app on my work iPhone. By the time I installed the app and took a screenshot it was too l...
