I like the convex edge idea but wonder if it would put production costs too high. It is hard enough to grind that appleseed grind on the tip (as a proper tanto should have) let alone the whole blade.

It's not that easy. Loosen it and you have blade play and a blade that is not centered.

I did not vote, but I find the aesthetics of the grind play a role too. Certain knives look better than others with the grind types too.
