Thanks!
You've answered my question, I just wish it had a full tang as I love to change handle scales for different materials, with my limited skils I can only deal with full tangs.
Shame, it looks a nice knife apart from that.

Spyderco Homemaker handle

Does the Spyderco Homemaker chefs knife have a full tang handle?
Does anyone have pictures of the handle? The only pic I've managed to find is the stock one in the catalog.
Thanks.

Thanks Deacon,
Nice website :D
I couldn't see any Pride models on there, maybe you could answer a question asked on the British Blades forum:
Did Spyderco ever make a G10 handled Pride, or any variants apart from the different flags/badges ?

Spyderco forum knife gallery?

Does anyone have pics, or even just a list, of all the Spyderco forum knives?

Just one question - where do you get bits of scrap titanium?
I've been looking for some for a while, the only stuff I've seen is large (expensive) sheets on eBay.

Hi Kermit, You can still find Spyderco Prides on eBay for as little as $20. It's a nice little knife, mine gets carried more than my UK Penknife, it's definitely not as secure open, although your forefinger sits in the choil acting as a backup lock! Hopefully there will be a couple of new models alo...

Any news on the new small slipjoint models ???

Any news yet on the new small slipjoint models, the smaller brothers to the UK penknife that were discussed by Sal on British Blades months ago?
It would be nice to know the project was still on, and even nicer to see some prototype pics ;)

Just ordered a Darrel Ralph foldover pocket clip for the Pride, this will sit it a LOT lower in my pocket than the original (I didn't like the style anyway!), I need it to be discreet.
Should be a nice finishing touch :)

Hi Doc, I'm pleased with the blade shape, it gives a more balanced look, and you can rest your finger on the top edge for detailed cutting. 224477, the polished handle has been fine, I've only been using it for a couple of days so far, but no black fingers! I don't think I'll get any corrosion probl...

Thanks Senate. I re-used the standard screws & barrel nuts. I was originally thinking of making up some G10 or stainless scales, but when I took it apart, I saw that the locating holes for the barrel nuts (including the blade pivot) were D shaped to stop them turning, so I stuck with the origina...

Customised Pride pics

I've just finished customising my Pride, purely for cosmetic reasons, as although it's one of only a couple of Spydies legal to carry in England (I've also got a UK Pen Knife), I just didn't like it's style. The blade has been re-shaped, with a nicely polished back. The badge has gone, and it's hole...

Customising a Pride - can you help?

I've just started work on customising my Pride (UK flag!), which will involve re-profiling the top of the blade (like a Jester), re-shaping the handle scales, to round off the end & finger grips, and grinding out the engraving & flag hole on the scales to leave them smooth, thin, & polis...

Golem,
Good luck if you can get Spyderco to make a lockback version, but you might be surprised if you handled & used a UK Penknife, the way the blade opens & closes, you just don't need a lock. It's hard to explain, but try & get your hands on one, it really works.

Sal,
Yes please!
I would personally prefer Carlos' suggestion of a different colour G10 or Micarta, I'm not a great fan of the bolster/bone scales look, but a slightly smaller blade would definitely be good.
It would be a shame to waste your superb new slipjoint engineering on just one model!

Yeah, We need more small slipjoints! There are loads of big knives and loads of lock knives available from Spyderco & from other manufacturers (if that's what you need, great, go for it), but the UK Penknife is the only quality modern slipjoint available (the Pride is OK, but the UK Penknife is ...

Hi Joe, Yes, there is a choil which your forefinger sits in, and with your thumb on the grooved top ramp you're actually holding the blade. It's a really nice shape to grip, and with your finger in the choil the blade can't close. Also, it's by far the most secure slipjoint I've ever handled, the bl...

Personal thank you to Sal for the UK Penknife

I've just got my long awaited UK Penknife (design team special), and it is so perfect I've just got to thank you Sal, for all the work you put into producing this knife. Everything, from the top quality materials, the way it fits the hand, the low profile clip, even the fasteners are perfect, but wh...
