Re: Why do you carry a knife?
I have always had an affinity for knives. But my main use, is cutting stuff. Secondary is self defense, but that is a 0.00001% chance of application.

I would buy one, but if there was a native version I would prefer that

Re: FRN Police 4
If the price is right, the K390 version may find its way into my pocket. Dark blue FRN sounds great.

Re: CPM REX 45 | Edge Performance
I am surprised we have not seen more performance comments/threads. If its wear resistance and possibly toughness is better then Hap40, this could be the steel that outperforms M4 in those capacities... Maybe there is a lack of interest since the results will likely be close to M4?

Re: sheeple moment
The only knife I am concerned about a reaction now is the new KW Millie I got. For some reason, I never saw the SE black Pac Salt as intimidating. maybe it is the rounded vs acute tip on the knives? While dining at the bar of my local BBQ restaurant, which has no steak knives, I resorted to using m...

Re: What to choose?
Finally, the Military has arrived! Man, what an amazing folder. Quality and F&F for a production folder are top notch. Smooth action, and the S90V came with a very toothy edge. After reading some S90V sharpening posts about running a toothy edge, I get it now. The size of the knife was not as in...

Re: Best edge for S90V?
Great info! My first S90v blade is on the way. The consensus is light pressure, take your time on grit progressions making sure you have a clean apex. I only have a SM so I will 30 degree back bevel - CBN, Med, Fine, maybe strop it for that polished look, then micro at 40 degrees (maybe a few passe...

Re: fixed blade or Kitchen sprints
Sprig in K390. :) That sounds awesome! I am sure there are some really cool combos we could come up with. Is there enough demand? Maybe not, but we can dream. I finally sharpened a small chip in PMA 11 mule when I was trimming a brisket and hit the ceramic plate (I know, bad idea, lesson learned). ...

fixed blade or Kitchen sprints
Exclusives are up to the dealers to ask for them, correct? What about Sprints, is that Spyderco saying - lets throw some new steel and colors in there for the customers? It seems like everyone here has crazy love for non stainless steels due to toughness, good to great edge retention, and ease of sh...

Re: Advice on next purchase
Get a PM2, but I recommend skipping the S30V model and getting something different. I had my PM2 S30V for 2 years and it was great, but it got a little boring to me (in steel and in color) so I am selling and trying something new. Just my 2 cents...

Re: What to choose?
After 873 different options of what to buy, I bought the KW S90V Military Carbon fiber/Titanium. The handle material and looks of that knife for $18 more then the Burnt orange G10 was too hard to pass on. I really wanted to try Rex 45, but S90V was on my list too. No more waiting on pre orders to fi...

Re: Double Stuff 2| Best Pocket Stone
Besides us being spyderco Junkies, is there are a reason why the doublestuff is better then the DMT coarse/fine combo that comes in a similar size? And its cheaper? Any difference in quality? First, it's all about your Sharpening ability not the tool so buying something more expensive is never goin...

In waiting for the Rex45 PM2, I have gotten bored waiting and changed my mind 4-5 times. I realized it is time for me to try out a Military for the first time. I am selling my PM2 (I have a stretch and Pac Salt for that size folder/role). So, I put a Rex45 Millie on pre order and am exciting about i...

How to get a coarse edge?
I have heard many times certain steels have better edge retention or perhaps people like the way they cut better with a coarse edge. S30v, s90v, usually steels with lots of V right? I assume with a SM, that means finishing on brown rods and no fine/ultra fine/strops etc? Can I still have a polished ...
