Re: Pool owners

Thanks everyone. I have to research salt systems again to get up to date on current pricing. Pools can be such money holes.

Re: CQI Shabaria ?

CQI does not entail a redesign to a different lock type. That would be in essence a whole new knife that looks similar to the original. Even a simple sprint run would surprise me as I have not heard of anyone requesting it in 20 years. I could be wrong about that, however. I just don't remember anyo...

Re: I grossly underestimated the Native Chief

Just got my REX45 Native Chief. Since this is my first Spyderco backlock... is it normal for the spring to perceptibly protrude over the backspacer when the knife is open? They're perfectly flush when it's closed. I'd say 25% of my Spyderco lockbacks have lock bars that don't seat flush. One of my ...

Pool owners

Fellow pool owners, what are your plans during this chlorine shortage? Anyone switching to salt or bromine? Maybe ozone is the way to go?
I was at my local Lowe’s today and there were no tabs to be had, except for the super expensive single packs.

Re: Would you like to see a Sharpening subforum?

Just a thought, but perhaps a broader more encompassing knife issue subforum called something like knife maintenance. It kind of occurred to me because I spent the last couple hours grinding down the kick on a dozen or so folders that had been sharpened so much that the pointed tip of the knives we...

Re: Covid-19 vaccination starting (UK)

In Russian Roulette you know there is one bullet in the cylinder. In your town there are 5000 chambers any of which could be loaded, i.e. an asymptotic carrier. That person might even be you unless you been tested and the person walking by you could be a highly susceptible person. Spin the wheel, ta...

Re: My Kapara’s pivot screw is stuck...

There must be one guy on the line who just doesn’t know when enough is enough. Seems like you got one of his. My Kapara was easy to disassemble, including the pivot.

Heat is your best bet as the others have said.

Rit dye solves the color issue on light colored scales. I say don’t hold back if you do not like the color, but love the steel.

Re: Covid-19 vaccination starting (UK)

My wife’s co-worker’s whole family contracted COVID and the symptoms varied from flu-like to severe. Their 15 year old son has long term lung issues from it and will need long term treatment.

Still, many are willing to play Russian roulette with it.

Re: Knife joy Damascus Delica

I have the Delica version. The blue on the scales is very nice so mine will remain stock. I really like the blue too, so chances are mine will stay stock too. In hindsight, the way I worded my initial reply seems to discredit the stock scales; in actuality I really do like the color and texture. Fo...
