Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

Cold Steel makes something called a Click N Cut which is sort of a utility knife crossed with those knives with three swappable blades. So I guess there is a broader market than I would have guessed.

Re: It’s time for a green salt Dyad !

It’s surprising that there has been no Salt version already, of any of the three versions. I don’t need any more Salts, but I’d get a Salt Dyad.

Re: Interest in an Ikuchi sprint or exclusive?

Ikuchi seems like an ideal model for lots of sprints or exclusives. Hopefully one of the big retailers or distributors is paying attention.

Re: Patch Me In

I apologize for being snide, but the "Boo Hoo" emogi in this context just pisses me off. I was not referring to forum join date, but to the date of my first post in the first thread on Bladeforums when Sal proposed the Mule Team concept. I did not realize your level sensitivity when I posted the em...

Re: Lil Native Tanto?

I voted No as well, sorry. I don’t see how a tanto would help the model. I’d much rather see a wharncliffe, especially one with thinner stock.

Probably one of the Z-cuts, followed by the kitchen utility knives.

I've been involved since Jan 28, 2007. How about you?
Under my original name (JR in CT) I have been here since: Joined:Fri Nov 11, 2005 3:01 pm. Too bad I got locked out of that account and could not recover it. I didn’t post much back then, just learning and absorbing.

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

Sorry, more rain clouds: More Home Depot customer lose more utility knives (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Stanley, Husky, etc.) every day than Spyderco would sell in a year. Or two. It has to be cheap enough to lose regularly for it to sell, and I cannot see Spyderco wasting resources to go up against the well...

Re: Need help understanding this steel

It sounds like it was written by someone who didn’t understand the description they were given. My guess is that it made just from Nitro-V. PS, I hope it wasn’t you who got the last MM punch blade stockman! No sir! But I've been looking at it. I'm hoping to find an older one Queen made, as I feel t...

Re: Small Folders Okay Gor Self Defense?

I love posts like this because it always brings out the same crowd. The young and healthy always yell "runaway" or "get martial arts training" because they assume they will always be young and healthy. Guess what kids, you WILL get old, you WILL get infirm at some point. So what can you do if you ca...

Re: My favorite handle design

That handle + a caged ball bearing lock, and it would be a best seller. Sal said before that buyers often avoid thicker knives choosing thinner models to carry. That would explain the preponderance of slab sided folders in the market.

Maybe you can call Spyderco and see what they recommend? Or send it in for warranty work? I don't know your location, so either might be difficult or impossible, practically speaking.

I have yet to see one that has been worn out. It is more likely to lose it before you ever were the scales out, just guessing.

If anyone has one they have worn out, please post pictures!

Re: A Larger Scale Dodo Model? PLEASE!!!

... A larger Dodo ( especially in full SE) would be a beast for many type cutting jobs and it would be a dream folder for the commercial fishing industry and I'm willing to bet that many of the great firefighters we have here on the Forum would love a bigger Dodo model for their demanding job as we...

Re: Do we do people disservice?

Would it be better to recommend something easier and then if they are interested they can move up? Sometime we do do a disservice. Just because we want certain attr...

Re: Is Sal Glesser Irreplaceable?

Based on Sal's past comments, I'm pretty sure Eric is calling the day to day shots at Sypderco. Sal is still fully involved, but no longer has to be bogged down with the grind, he can focus on the cool stuff. The last I read, Sal is out in Hawaii. Sal has built a lasting and positive legacy and taug...
