Re: Native 5 question...

I agree with the others, give it time, I have 2 native 5 LW, and without a doubt was much stiffer and stronger then delica/endura. I tuned pivot to have a slight amount of drag, a drop of gun oil and play with it. Both of mine broke in a few days of frequent open/close cycles, now they are butter sm...

Re: Warranty denial?? Shocked....great outcome!!

I needed a handle screw for my new unused native 5, like you played with it a bit, test cut on a small branch to get feel if it, put it up, week later went EDC it, noticed handle screw was missing. Emailed them they sent them in about a week....wrong ones and it was all my fault as I forgot to menti...

Re: New Native5 disappointing quality.

Ok this thread is an example of misunderstanding the written word. I think we're all being positive here with our responses and somewhere along the way something was misconstrued. No worries everything is cool :) "Always remember that it is impossible to speak [write/communicate] in such a way...

Re: New Native5 disappointing quality.

I have to agree with the break in time needed, I have the native 5 FRN and is stiff, but just a few days of opening closing made a difference. Now my manix2's 2 LW, 1 G10 , was a huge difference once broke in, pivot is blade drop smooth from its own weight when released with NO blade play, and the b...

Re: New crow/raven

I have to agree for the asking price, these are bang up good blades. I use both for the rougher work around the property for a few months now, which is what a manix2 LW and delica 4 saber grind were used for. They are performing nice, though I did chip the blade on the Raven cutting on some hard kno...

Re: Need help on a new slim EDC - no lockbacks

I was not a back lock fan at all till I bought a delica, now it's one I prefer, but the ball bearing(spyderco) and Axis locks are my favorite. I like convenience of liner locks but have had a number of em fail and/or wear out over the years. Though locks are not a deal breaker for me as I love my Sp...

Re: Just got my Manix 2 S110V but not happy.

I have the g10 version and 2 LW, they were all indeed very stiff at first. They all have eased up a lot with a few days each of open-close cycles and sore thumb lol, all day long. I like the idea of adding "traction" to top back half of handle as mentioned as it would have made the break i...

Re: 2015: Year of the Lightweight Native 5

I bought a native 5, has not been carried yet, just fondled and put in and out of pocket a few times, whittled on a fresh 1/4 cypress branch dozen or so cuts to get feel then put up, a week later went to edc it for the day and noticed the handle screw near lanyard hole fell out, can I request a scre...

I have been spyder bitten

Hello spyderco fans, I just wanted to say hey to Spyderco and forum members. I am a new Spyderco nut and proud American :) , I have been a fixed blade guy for the last 20 years, edc a izula2 right now,and recently bought a Delica4 on a whim, impressive little pocket knife, soon a flat saber delica, ...
