Re: Spyderco Shipping

So I made my first purchase with Spyderco and of course am excited anticipating the arrival of my items. That said, how long from the time you place an order until it actually ships does it take? All I can say is, "Good Luck". My last order from the SFO was recieved on Wednesday, July 25t...

Re: I wish Spyderco would make...

I doubt I would ever see it happen but I would like to see a Sprint Run of a Maxamet blade for the Chaparral series that I could swap out and install in my Titanium Chaps. I love Maxamet and I love my Titanium Chaps. I am probably the only one interested in this, but I'd sure like to see it. :) Dave

Re: Interest in Cruwear

I would welcome more of the Signature Series offerings in a Cruwear option. Cruwear is a popular and proven blade steel and is a favorite of many here, including myself. I do not like or own, and will not buy, any of the stainless steels, (just a personal preference of mine), so Cruwear would be a w...

Re: Grail discussions!!

Ever since Spyderco released the Manix 2 with a Maxamet blade my "grail" had been a Maxamet Manix 2 with liners and G-10 scales. When I learned that this version would not be produced in 2018, (unless in a Sprint or Dealer Exclusive, which I have not as yet seen), I knew if I was going to ...

Re: Happy Birthday, El Gato!

It was indeed a great day, spent at one of my favorite camps in the Dragoon Mountains enjoying a campfire and a sunny day. Coming back to find so many nice comments from special friends made it all the more special!

Re: Your last purchase in 2017

Three Manix 2 models ended the year for me. The BladeHQ Exclusive with CPM M4 was a very welcome edition, then a pair of black G-10 with liners and S30V blades were purchased and the S30V blades were swapped out and replaced with Maxamet. Love the conversion, and it turned out great. Now I have a pa...

Re: 30 Day Fixed Blade Challenge...

I'm way ahead on this one. I edc my 4V Mule everyday all day and have for a long time. Since getting the Boltaron sheath when Spyderco first offered them I have been carrying IWB same as Lance. I too appreciate the simplicity and easy care of a reasonably sized fixed blade like my Mules when there's...

Re: Theories on the invention of the edged tool

There is always the outside chance that I could be wrong, but my theory has always been that early man, once living in a renovated bread truck, developed an edged tool he called "The Worker" that, although radical in appearance, functioned rather well for its intended purpose. It is my und...

Any Interest For A CPM REX 121 Mule?

I would like to ask if there is any interest in a future Mule Team, or perhaps other knife models, in CPM REX 121 tool steel. Please refer to the link for Crucible's Data Sheet for REX 121: https://www.crucible.com/eselector/prodbyapp/highspeed/cpm121.html A few quotes from Crucible: "CPM REX 1...

Re: "Talkin' Story"

Even non-knife people tend to like my Titanium Chaparral, especially when they experience for themselves how beautifully it cuts. I have yet to receive a negative comment on my Chap. Just one more reason why I always have it with me, in addition to the other knives I carry. I am selective in whom I ...

Re: Bolatron or Leather Mule Sheath?

The Mules I carry and use are in CPM 4V, K-390, Maxamet, and PMA11. All are non-stainless steels as that is my preference. I find all of these to be excellent performance steels and I would recommend any of them without hesitation, but, as with anything else, blade steel is a personal choice. The cl...

Re: Bolatron or Leather Mule Sheath?

I edc a Mule in a Boltaron sheath daily, for whatever that is worth in experience, and have for several months. I have never had an issue with the security or retention of my knife in the Boltaron sheath. I carry my Mules inside the waistband in the appendix carry position with absolute security and...

I'd tell him "440 sucks you smelly hippy", then punch him. That's how I feel about his ideas. :) Joe +1 I'm with you Joe, 100% I neither buy nor want any of the steels mentioned in this thread so far. I do not buy certain steels to "brag about". I choose a blade steel to use. My...
