Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints
Hi Sparky, This is my thread about my Shiny footprints. Not yours. Start your own thread. Otherwise you force me to delete your posts, which I did. We don't do politics on this forum. Make it a good day. :) sal Well, you answered my question, now we know where you stand. So thanks for that, I guess.

Price on the Zome Green Delica is $68 on Amazon now. Says "price hidden" until you put it in the cart. aaronkb, I can't remember ever getting a passing grade with a score of 1. Usually all those wrong answers meant a failing grade. Apparently, you've not visited a public school...

Re: Spyderco Name Recognition?
Yes, I think what you say is true. I think most of us enjoy passing along the word, or a knife, to let other people know. IMO most of their knives, especially the most functional ones, are not great looking at first, to those who don't appreciate them. Honestly it takes a while to appreciate how fun...

Re: Is the Siren a Salt?
A really fantastic knife, congratulations to all involved. Just me I'm sure, and black will sell more knives - but I'm biased toward a handle color with better visibility on knives I may be using in the dark or may drop into the weeds or water. Or even just trying to find it in the cockpit or my bag...

Re: What would folding pocket knives look like if Sal never started Spyderco?
Also we’d have knives that were designed and released and never tested or improved after that. And a lot less knives and features that respond to user feedback. That is, the process Spyderco uses has a huge impact on delivering great knives: - design a knife based on own experience and user input - ...

Re: I like the Para 3 LW...but...
This is another discussion about the subjective merits of something that can’t be objectively quantified without definition or metrics. Basically, which lock do you like the most? Nothing wrong with that and it is good that we have so many different choices to discuss. My notion is that a lock’s pu...

Re: CTS-BD1N Where does it fit in?
Where it fits is "Carpenter’s CTS-BD1N holds the potential to achieve stardom as the go-to performer of the production knife world. It costs about the same as VG-10 or N690, with a better mix of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and sharpenability. These qualities make it an easy choice fo...

Re: Byrd Tern: First Impressions
Really great pix (as always), thanks. The photos do a nice job showing the contouring on the G10 handles, which IMO makes all the difference. A really terrific value.
A Slip Joint, worth noting.

Re: Casual Sage 5 Lightweight reveal
Nice video, thanks.
Obviously each to their own. But I prefer the backlock
- smoother feel / grip along the back - no indent
- easier to release, in the sense that it's not a precise movement to unlock. Just put a fat finger on top and press.
Great to have options.

Re: What is the most general use Spyderco blade steel in your opinion?
I read this to say that Sal (and the other guy) thinks BD1N is a contender as a steel that a lot of people will find to be a good general use steel in the budget price category:

Re: Do Spyderco Knives Have No Flaws?
There's nothing wrong with people having their own opinions about knives. Though reading this forum, it's not always clear people buy into that. There's nothing wrong with knives that look great but can't really be used for much more than opening letters, cutting threads, or opening a package. That'...

Re: Do Spyderco Knives Have No Flaws?
OP, read this thread about the Rhino. Spyderco is different: //forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=74423 Also, keep in mind that Sal or Eric usually carry and use new or changed designs for a while before they are released. They don't release stuff that looked cool, but didn't work in practice. A lot...

Re: Spyderco Website Ordering Woes
I was afraid I might get this response, I can see how this comes across as whining, that's one of the reasons I waited two months to mention it. I had hoped that my opening paragraph in which I expressed my gratitude for the discount would assuage that, but I was incorrect. You are absolutely corre...

Re: Shot Show 2019
They only solved the pocket clip issue but they lost a good opportunity to thin down that overkill blade stock  Too bad ....maybe they'll grind them thinner behind the edge at least ... I only hope Sal reads this .... The blade stock is the biggest reason the Para 3 doesn't work for me. But I ...

Re: Shot Show 2019
Man, that Lightweight para3 is gonna be a huge seller! I just noticed (after watching that last video) that they smoothed/rounded the chamfering. This handle should feel much more like the Japanese frn knives which IMO will be a huge improvement over some of the “blockier” handles on the Golden mad...
